Q: We have a really big area rug, and it keeps getting these huge...fold crease bulges in the same exact area...how the heck do you get rid of these for good?
Do you have a thick carpet pad beneath it? A good carpet pad will prevent a rug from creeping and creasing. Rotating the rug periodically will also help.
Q: they used to use the litter box just fine and never had prob. but now the pee on rugs and poop here and there
If they used to use the litter box without any issues and then all of a sudden they decide to pee and poop on the carpet, then that should be a big warning bell to you. When cats who were good at using the litter box decide to do their business elsewhere, that should be a big warning sign that there could be something medically wrong with them. Cats by nature are very clean and should have no problems using the litter box, but when something medically becomes wrong with them, they will stop using their litter box because they think that what is wrong with them is something they got from their litter box. Take them to the veterinarian immediately. If they have nothing wrong with them, then you aren't cleaning their litter box as well as you used to. Cats do not like dirty litter boxes and will do their business elsewhere to let you know that their box needs to be cleaned. When you go to clean up the rugs, if they can be put in the washing machine, then do so. And as far as carpet cleaners, use a vegetable enzyme cleaner. Never use any products containing ammonia in it because to them, it smells the same as their urine and they will think that is their new place to use the restroom. If you have a steam cleaner, then use that as well. Use a black light and scan the area to see if it shows any spots. That will let you know if you have gotten all of the urine out of the carpet. Never let the urine stay their too long or the smell will soak into the carpet and then the only solution to get rid of it is to replace your entire flooring which is of course no fun, and very expensive.
Q: We received a carpet bid for a room that is $2641.00. The next number is 52.44 installed and carpet only 39.44. I'm assuming this is yards? Does that sound like an average price for a slightly above average carpet? For about 200 square feet, is $7/sq. ft an average cost for tile and $1700 total including materials? Then still I have to pay labor separate. It is a unique tile in a unique shape, not square but rectangular.
The cost of the tile can vary from .99--? If you are happy with the $7 a square foot, then that is fine. I paid for my tile and then paid 3.50 a square foot for installation. I don't understand the extra money you have to put out for materials? and then to pay labour separately? I would get some estimate from other places...unless this is for the prep work..then it would make sense if that was needed. I strongly suggest you get a written estimate from them and a couple more installers. I like to hire the installers from the place of tile purchase. I cannot help you on carpet..sorry..I have no experience with that.
Q: My dog got ahold of one of my moms plants. I told her it was stupid to buy them while the dog was in the house. Anyways, the dog got ahold of the plant and drug it across the carpet, I tried vacuuming the carpet, but it just stained. How do I clean the carpet?!
Depending on what kind of carpet it is (wool, polypropolene etc.) I would take a stiff brush and try to get the dirt out of the carpet. first and then vacuum again. I have a lightweight carpet cleaner. After using a still brush I use the carpet cleaner/vacuum. I put white vinegar and warm water in the resevoir and use that to clean any remaining stains. So far that has worked for everything my cat has done to my rugs. It sometimes takes 2 rounds with the vinegar but that's all I use.
Q: I got nail polish all over my bedroom carpet and I need to get it out!!
I have an extra thought. Two merchandise which can be extra focused that nail polish remover; -- Goof-Off (NOT Goo-Gone). Try regional hardware shops or Ace; enormous-field shops do not convey this, I feel. -- Bestine. Try Art's provides shops. Both of those are very heavy-responsibility cleaners; you HAVE to have critical air flow, like open home windows and fanatics. But they're excellent cleaners for difficult spots. I blotted an ink-pen leak off of a raincoat with Goof-Off and it was once find it irresistible had certainly not been there after one blot. I additionally obtained a few stuff that gave the impression of melted foolish putty out of carpet at condominium estate with Goof-Off. It took repeated pours/blots with plenty of paper towels, but it surely did dissolve the stuff. I learned approximately Goof-Off from a creation contractor. I feel Bestine is uncooked chemical in nail polish remover. It is used to dissolve rubber cement and blank paste-up wax in snap shots stores. I used to paintings with it, and it is a nasty however potent chemical. Just learn/comply with precautions on their labels, and be certain to experiment for colour-fastness. If you do use this sort of, be all set to bag up the rags/paper towels and so forth. in a couple of layers, and get them OUT. The fumes will permeate constant luggage, and replenish your apartment and supply you a most important headache, apart from the chance from fumes igniting. I child you now not, watch out. They do the process however they're DUE recognize.

Q: When do you feel it is too cold or too hot for your horse and you need to rug him/her? How can you tell if your horse needs to be rugged or unrugged? Thanks, and could you also include some points about the differant types of rugs and what each are best for and when you should use them eg. winter rugs, summer rugs, cavasson (i think thats it:)), ect. thanks! xx
A okorder / The higher the denier the tougher the rug. 600 denier will tear easier and be less water proof then a 1200 plus denier rug. I have the last one shown (Defender) is a great rug for really cold frosty winters. Tough denier and no neck rug attached, which I prefer for my horses that are not in much work. In spring I then switch it for a lighter rug, which they usually wear for a month or so before I leave it off completely. But please remember, even if you switch to a lighter rug, it will still need to come off each morning if it is warm and during their heavy moulting in the first month of spring.
Q: I just got an estimate to professionally steam clean a 9 * 12 turkish area rug - the estimate was for $440 which seemed high to me, but I have no reference point - is this a reasonable price? I am located in New York City - Thanks!
I'll go out on a limb here and guess that $440 is NOT high ... first, it's an Oriental ... second, you are in NYC. And ... it's a big rug! Oriental rugs need to be handled with the utmost care. I would call around to several places for price quotes. I don't actually have a point of reference, either ... but I'm betting that (in your area, at least) you'll find that the price you were given is well within ballpark range. Did you buy the rug new? If so, call the retailer and ask for a recommendation. You may be able to get a break on the price for a referral from the rug seller. If you bought the rug secondhand (or bought it mass-market ... or don't know where the rug originally came from) ... you're probably stuck paying top buck, but BE SURE to get the estimate in writing before you have any work done on the rug!
Q: Okay, so that's 2 questions in one. Don't hold it against me. Instead, please suggest a cleaner (or a home-made recipe/solution) for cleaning and shining stainless steel small appliances (coffee maker, panini maker, barmen's toolset, and some others) and for how to get set-in stains out of a small oriental rug. Don't know the composition of the stains; they've been there for awhile. They are on a white-ish background. Thanks!
No idea about the rug, but a company called simple human makes a cloth that you can use with just water to shine up/clean all your stainless steel appliances. There aren't any chemicals involved! You can also use a small bit of olive oil to a cloth and use that to clean and shine them, then wipe with a clean dry cloth. Weird, but it works. I have a small steam cleaner for my rugs that works pretty well. I'd try one of the oxy type cleaners.
Q: every time i leave the housemy cat pees the rug even when we are sleeping. we have tried every thing with the viniger and that stufff that cleens the rug and takes away the odor. the rug is by the window cill and there are some stray cats running around outside. every time she does is we flick her nose and put her in our bathroom. plz help i`m tired of scrubbbing my carpet.
Flicking your cat and putting her in the bathroom wont help. Cats arn't able to connect being put in the bathroom with punishment for peeing. Instead schedule her/him for a vet appointment. If your cat can't control its bladder, there might be some other health problem causing that. Or, if your cat isnt fixed or neutered...that could be causing some frustrations instigated by the outside cats resulting in spraying. In the mean time, invest in a carpet shampooing vaccume. Instead of just steaming, they steam and shampoo and they even sell special pet oder/stain removing detergent to use in them. Then, get some baby gates from a friend (people love getting rid of them) and close off a few spaces for kitty until you figure out the problem. Good luck!
