- Q: Im applying going for a pre apprenticeship next month and I‘m not sure which one to choose from, electrician or wall and floor tiling? I think electrician pays more but you need to be a bit smarter the I am and I‘m afraid I won‘t do well. Or I could just to.. You know tiling not that hard. - Q: Someone spilled a cleaning liquid on my marble tiles and the glaze came off. Does anyone know how to get the shine back to normal. Right now some parts look regular, and other parts are white. With a certain angle you can clearly see the glaze is taken off.

- I tile every day of my life, and usually hang out in DIY. Tile spacers come in two sizes, 1/4 and 1/8. For a counter top I suggest 1/8. You already know they look like (+) signs, and many have rounded tips. They are also sold in what looks like a round CAP with the plus sign under that allows for corner spacing and alignment. I do not use corners specifically, in laying the spacer flat, primarily through experience, but many suggest that method. You would set a piece of tile, then another in close proximety, using the spacers to align and keep the tiles at an exatc distance from each other. The spacer also makes a great scoop for wiping out excess mortar or mastic that squeezes up into the grout lines. I suggest 1/8 for countertops because of the purpose of the top and having the least amount of absorbent material, against the greater flat/flush surface that a counter top should be. Without knowing at all, your tile, or design, I also prefer a tile style that has bullnose sold in the same style allowing a back splash, and counter top edge/facing. I can't recall the name of REVERSE bullnose, but it would be used where the countertop, butts/meets the back splash. You may get suggestions that ramble, as I am, about sealing the grout, and you should be using a poly blend mortar and grout anyway. I'm not strictly opposed to sealers, but they do become a regular, life long process, and I am opposed to any surface finishes that come in contact with food. Obviously cutting boards work. - Q: hello, this is my first tile and grout job, tiling is done now for grout. bought premixed grout, rubber float, sponge, started grouting last night, put grout on the float and applied to the tile. pushed it into the space between tiles, but it seems like alot fell off in the tub (its in the spaces between tiles) but is this normal for the grout to fall off the wall (i guess it would be considered excess?) but is that normal no sure how applying grout is suppose to look? i know i need to let it sit for 24hrs then do clean up then seal it when done. plz let me know if that grout falling in tub is normal or am i doing something wrong? ( grout is in the grout line though) just looks like alot is falling, or am i useing to much at one time? don‘t know? thx again for any info. mike
- bathing room tiles are farley low-cost and easy to position in. i'd not paint them, that seems truly tacky to me. i'd propose in basic terms replacing all of them. no matter if that's the bathtub encompass area you're talking about my company replaces all of that for $650 such because the hardi board behind the tile. that is truly major once you've had some lacking tiles or cracked tiles because moisture receives behind there and motives mould. when you're talking about portray floor tile i'd also propose in basic terms replacing all of it. Tiling isn't that puzzling extraordinarily in a rest room considering that its so small. i'd say splurge slightly and get new tile. it is going to a great deal improve the look of your bathing room. And dont be afraid to flow with tiles in sizes along with 13x13 on walls and 20x20 on flooring. It truly makes the realm look larger.

- All i will say is: its normally not a best thought to put it correct on top. It turns into extra seemingly for it to come up. This is the type of porcelain that is usually sold as porcelain. These are glazed ove to create their color and look. True porcelains, you can see the color of the tile go all the way through to the bottom of the tile. More costly because of this.
