FAQ
1. For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?
—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.
2. What is the MOQ for this tile?
—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.
3. Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?
—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.
- Q:We have an installer, whom seems to be doing it wrong. I can‘t find any website that explains how to install tile the way he is doing it. Can you tell me if this sounds correct?First he puts mortar on the bare cement floor, then put down versa-bond or a bonding agent.. and then he puts more mortar on the tile and then lays it down.. Does this sound right to you? Thanks
- difficult situation look on to yahoo and bing just that could actually help
- Q:hi, we need to put tiles for a room of size 10x16 fts . we will be using 2x2 ft vitrified tiles. I want to know how many tiles are required and how the cost of tile is defined in shop. (price is for 1 piece or 1 sq feet ?)
- 10x16=160/(2x2)=160/4=40 tile you have 160 sq ft if they price it that way you need 40 tile if they price it that way If the tile come in 12 per box then divide 40 by 12 = 3.4 boxes which they most likely will make you buy 4 boxes (extra in case you break a couple. While doing the job, make sure you mix the tile out of the boxes so if there is a difference in color your floor will not show a change in color but will have the colors mixed across the floor..... Have fun
- Q:I want to install vinyl over a tile floor. What procedures should I take? What adhesive? What prep on the ceramic?
- Not a good idea, the vinyl will conform to the shape of the floor underneath and the indents of the grout lines will show through. If they are the small 1 inch by 1 inch tiles you can buy a product called floor leveler and put it over the tiles to create a smooth surface. It is a powder that mixes with water to create a plaster type mix. Ok for a small ie bathroom floor, huge job on a kitchen floor. The key to success is always in the prep. Make sure the underneath floor is very smooth before trying to put down vinyl. Another method would be to glue shower/tile backer board over the tile. This comes in quarter inch thickness and can be glued down using thin-set mortar, but with the new vinyl you will be raising the floor level by almost a half inch. This may mean that you have to trim doors from the bottom. It is not an impossible task and will be worth it if you really hate the tile. Keep in mind that if you use this method in a bathroom that the toilet will have to be removed and an adapter placed on the flange to make up for the height difference. If you own the house, I would remove the tile, if you rent, I would reconsider and probably use scatter rugs. If you are still going to do it, make a paper pattern or buy a pattern kit at the big box store. Vinyl does not necessarily need to be glued down, but gluing the edges will generally keep them from curling up. Good luck, there is a great deal of self satifaction in improving the look of a room and making it you.
- Q:I was looking at the glazed tiles at Lowes, they‘re so nice looking, and they‘ve got so many colors.I‘m looking to tile my living room floor...I‘ve read glazed isn‘t good for floors, it‘s more for walls and counter tops. Can anyone tell me about this? I don‘t have any experience with tiles, what is the norm, the standard for floor tiles?
- Unglazed Ceramic Tile Lowes
- Q:we are installing 2inch hexagonal tile on the shower floor. anyone have any special tricks to getting them lined up properly? the tile guys have put it down and a lot of the spaces between the tiles are uneven. keep in mind the shower floor slopes a little towards the drain
- I tile every day of my life, and assume now it's TOO LATE to change the spacing. 2 inch octagonals should have come with a mesh backing for one thing, in sections that approximate a square foot at least. The mesh is supposed to insure at least a 1/8th inch grout space, between the tiles. Unless the contractor is willing to pull it all and start over, and/or you want to take civil action against them. you might just have to consider the other, hopefully better aspects of the job and live with it. In the SLOPE, which should actually be more a modified concave bowl effect to the drain, it's possible that the tiles would have to be singularly set, and if installed properly would have thinner grout lines to the point where they meet the drain. I'd probably file a complaint if I were you, but you may not get any resolution to the problem. I crafted a spacer tool, that allows spacing at the various distances where the grout lines are actually lined up, which happens with each adjacent tile, but can be crafted to stretch a foot or more when setting meshed sections. Steven Wolf ADDED THOUGHT: Since you added details, certainly you can CUT tiles to separate them. The issue is now, the dry time allowed, at 12:16 AM EST. The TILE sections should have come out of the box with the corner octagons actually protuding some, to FIT into any adjacent sections already laid. If the contractor was a decent one, HE would have determined the layout, and cut the corner tiles out, of SOME of the meshed sections, allowing the new, adjacent section to fit exactly in. Added added note: No offense but the pics show slight variances, but nothing critical. To change and entire line, might mean pulling up an entire square, and using NEW
- Q:I have several boxes of wall tile and I would like to use some on a floor. Is this okay? What is the difference?
- First, wall tiles are thinner than floor tiles. Because of gravity, wall tiles are made slightly thinner to make adherence to your wall easier. Wall tiles are also often more porous on their adhesive side than ceramic floor tiles, again for ease of installation. Ceramic floor tile on the other hand is made thicker for application to flat surfaces. It is also set with a different mixture of thinset mortar. You can find most styles of floor tile made for walls as well so that you can match your border to your floors. Consult with a ceramic floor tile specialist to see if they can find the style you are looking for in both ceramic floor tile and ceramic wall tile.
- Q:Is it possible to remove just the top row of the ceramic tile on my bathroom walls without damaging the remaining tile? I‘d like to replace the top row with glass tiles for a more updated look.
- It is possible, but be prepared to replace the entire thing. Hammer and chisel is the only way.
- Q:Things fade on the tiles how to get rid of
- Tiles are often greasy, rust, rust and other stains, especially the tiles at the junction more easily filth. In order to keep the porcelain surface clean and not damage the porcelain surface bright, you can use multi-functional cleaning paste for cleaning. Tile cracks, you should first use a toothbrush dipped in a little detergent to remove dirt, and then at the gap with a brush brush can be a waterproof agent, so that not only can prevent water and can mold growth. Daily cleaning and maintenance of tiles, the first tile on all the stains thoroughly cleaned, if the glue or sticky, the neutral detergent can be used with 3M scouring rub. Place the floor cleaning agent (please use it according to the instructions) and sprinkle it on the floor tiles, rubbing the stains on the tiles with a waxing machine. And then water-based wax into a dry dry mop, the wax evenly coated on the floor can be.
- Q:do i remove toilet, vinyl tile and sink cabinet. under lay for tile? what holds ceramic tile down?
- yes, you should remove everything and install cement board as your new underlayment
- Q:If yes, we want to know what s the best sealer for our porcelain tiles we just installed on our floors. Will the sealer make the tiles slippery? We will appreciate your quick answer from y‘all!
- I agree with Rob. Not necessary to seal the tile, but it is definitely a good idea to seal the grout.
