3. What's the characteristics about porcelain tiles and glazed tiles? Which one

more slippery, more aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean?

Glazed tiles are colorful, the effect is rather diverse, stain-slip, abrasion resistance but worse than the porcelain tiles. Long-term use may wear a large surface; porcelain tiles have the higher degree, long hard wear surface. Good performance and stable cleanup (before playing the best times to use the wax to improve stain resistance). The porcelain tiles are weaker performance in non-slip than glazed tiles. We should take attention on its anti-slip properties, face down in a tiled brick water testing.

4. How to choose bathroom tiles? Porcelain tiles or glazed tiles?

Currently used in the bathroom tiles with glazed tiles (mainly from price considerations, some high-end can choose tiles, notice to choose tiles), divided into Shinny and Matt two kinds. Light color makes people feel shinny, but the bathroom more appropriate to create a warm feeling, so the best choose is uses matte, the shinny feels more soft and not dazzling.

Q:I‘m gutting my bathroom and will be tiling the floor and then adding a new vanity and a new toilet. The question is, do you tile before you put in the toilet and new vanity or do you put in these items first and then tile around them? Concrete slab foundation that I‘m currently working on leveling.
You want to tile first, tile last forever. You may want to change your vanity eventually, or you may want a different type of toilet in the future. If you have your tile down first, these changes will not matter. Also, tile doesn't ruin if you have a leak and water damage. If you tile first, you just pick out new things. If you put in the stuff first, you will have to buy exactly the same thing.
Q:It‘s something I really want to do, I find myself longing for it often. Tile or ceramic, not sure yet. But, my house is 1485 square feet and I‘m wondering if anyone has a ball park estimate for what price range I‘m looking at! I know different variables like tile vs ceramic, etc, but just looking for a range if anyone can help. Thanks!
I advise using ceramic tile rather then regular tile. It costs a little more, but it's worth every penny. Also, you'll be really pleased in the end if you choose a mingle of darker earth tones. We removed all the carpet from our home and had ceramic tile put in. My spouse chose a gray-cement tile for the upstairs. I chose the mingled earth tones for the downstairs. Cleaning these tiles is like night and day. Everything shows up on the gray. Whereas the downstairs tiles have never appeared to be dirty even when they are sometimes. I think we paid between $1.50 and $1.75 per tile at an outlet store. Don't let people tell you that shouldn't buy tile that is no longer being produced, since if one breaks you won't be able to replace it. All we did was buy more than we needed. The extra box remains unused because none of our tiles have ever chipped or broken.
Q:I was using a steam mop and it started getting very hot and tripping the breaker system. electrician told me there was too many amps (?) for the small electrical cord to handle. He said most of the steam mops can be potentialy dangerous for this reason. My outlets and breaker system have been fine since I stopped using the mop.But now, it is very difficult to keep the tile floors clean. Any suggestions?
I am using tile steam cleaning machines to clean tile floors in my home office. A good quality tile cleaner with steam cleaning advantage can give you best results.
Q:I have broken tiles that i desperately need to fix ,but i cant seem to find a match for the existing tile , is there any place that make the tile for me?
Maybe a pottery shop could possible make a close looking tile but it would still stick out like a sore thumb. You ll have to give them an exact measurement of the tile since most tiles are a nominal size( 12x12 are more often 11 3/4). Then you ll have to give them a sample pc of the tile to try and get color , texture and glazing close as possible.. This may not even be feasible for them to do. I would continue to search. If you could get me some details of the tile I d be gladly try and help you.(Exact size, manufacturer ,age, anything and every thing) Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there..GL
Q:IAM REDOING MY KITCHEN FLOOR. IS PEEL STICK TILE GOOD FOR THE PROJECT N WILL IT LAST? THANKS
For most things, in general, you get what you pay for. If you buy the peel and stick tile because it is cheap, then you will have a cheap job. It never sticks as good as the manufacturer says it does. It shows ALL imperfections in the underlying floor surface. You will get goop in the areas between tiles, no matter how well you lay it. It really isn't worth it at all. I did a bathroom and kitchen area in an old house using peel stick tile, and it looked good for about a month, then it turned to crap quickly. I'd suggest either using ceramic tile or a single sheet of linoleum flooring. Good luck.
Q:What is the basic role of tile glue?
The basic role is clearly posted more solid brick can not afford to brick Baidu experience - tile adhesive construction method
Q:does any one know where to find any harvest gold bathroom tiles?? it was a color that was big in the 70‘s but it is almost impossible to find it now in stores..does anyone know of any stores or webites that sell them please let me know i need them for replacements

Q:Can I paint over the tiles? If so what kind of products would I use and how would I prep the tiles?
i wouldn't paint them . . .I used to have this shower remodel job for a college, we'd have to paint over the old shower tiles with the above mentioned 2-part epoxy paint...and it sucked. not only was it a hassle to sand those tiles, but to mix the paint and get it smooth and even...it's just very frustrating and i wouldn't wish it on my enemies. if the tiles are REAL BAD, then save up and just do a bathroom remodel...if not, then use other colors to accent the bathroom. blue and yellow go well togther, also blue and orange...or you could get a rich brown to go with it, it really depends on the blue and how bad it is. hope this helps good luck
Q:We are renovating our bathroom and I don‘t want to take out the existing vanity just update it, we were considering tiling the countertop, can we go right over the existing laminate or should we remove the whole counter top, or is it possible to just take off the laminate?
I tiled over the laminate in my kitchen by sanding the laminate with coarse sandpaper....priming with oil-based kilz-it and then tiled and grouted. It's still in the kitchen for over 7 years. You could also remove the countertop from the cabinet and replace with 1/2 plywood topped with 1/4 cement board but you would have to cut out the whole for the sink. Tiling over it is much easier. Just figure out your tile layout. I used 12 tiles for my custom countertop in my bathroom.
Q:For my Science fair project i am testing different types of toothpastes and I was planning on soaking tiles in different liquids to satin them, but I don‘t know which tile would work? Any Ideas?
Why soak them? All normal tiles have a glazing on them and the glaze finish can be different to test the different stuff you want to test on them. You have bright glaze , matte glaze satin glaze. Some stone tiles with no glaze on them at all that might stain . Some stones you can seal w/a sealer to see how that works. Go to your local mom and pop type flooring store and tell them this is a school project and ask if they have any spare tile to give you. We helped many school projects over the years . Any questions you can e mail me thru my avatar. GL
