FAQ

1.    For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?

—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.

2.    What is the MOQ for this tile?

—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.

3.    Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?

—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own                design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000            pcs.

Q:This is a new house and they put 16 inch tiles in the bathrooms, which I don't care for. The floors are fine as far as leveling goes, but I would like to put 12 inch tiles directly over the 16 inch ones. Would there be any problems?
I don't think I would, if it is a shiny glazed tile in place now, There wont be a bond between the old and new tiles. If the current tile is a rough slate tile, maybe. Check the recommendations of the manufacturer of the tile you want to install. Another option is to install 1/4 inch concrete backerboard over the existing tile, but it should be screwed down and that's a real chore in your situation. Maybe the manufacturer knows of a type of mortar that will work on those smooth existing tiles (assuming they are smooth). I recommend you to hire a professional if you can hire. I recommend a company ciciliot who are very professional in this regard.
Q:I was told by one guy at Menards to use a 1/4 teeth trowel for 6-1/2‘‘ x 1/4‘‘ floor tiles. I am worried this will be too much glue and will ooze out the 3/16‘‘ gaps between tiles. then it will be a nightmare mess, and can‘t grout. Also do you just lay the tiles on the glue? or press down ?how much?Thank you very much
No matter how much mastic you use for tile it will come up in the grout joint areas because you have to press down and what I hve found easy and everyone is different is to have a bucket of water and use a spacer to clean the mastic out of the grout joints as you are laying them. After they are dried you can still clean out the grout joint areas which it not hard either. Hope this helps
Q:A family member purchased 12x12 non gloss tiles for our shower stall and I don‘t think I ever saw a shower stall with non gloss tiles. Our old tiles had gloss. Can you use non gloss tiles for the shower stall?
As long as its a glazed tile with a matte finish. These types of tiles are in fact easy to make look clean since water spots hide better on a matte finish. If your referring to an unglazed tile, sealing the tile is a must, and I suggest sealing twice before installation. Matte glazed tiles are very common. I ve installed 10x more matte glazed tile than bright glazed tiles on shower/tub walls. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q:my bathroom has brown tiles that i hate i bourgh white and stone tile paint there rubbish can i use another paint what kind i cant re tile landlord wont let me so need help
I think painted tiles always look a bit dodgy, unless you really really carefully paint each individual tile and not the grout (which is a PAIN). You can get tile decals though to stick over them, which although not as nice as retiling usually looks ok.
Q:Tile TV wall is good
Now on the market a lot of brand tiles have done a low radiation, the human body without harm to environmental standards. But I personally stand with the point of view, the TV backdrop is not suitable for paving a lot of series of polished tiles, because the polished light reflection is strong, is not conducive to the effect of television lighting, and imitation stone brick, too natural and Afraid of the radiation of the TV itself will lead to imitation of natural stone radioactive elements, wanted to talk about the same floor, there will be a negative impact. Comprehensive advantages and disadvantages, to use the tile paving the back of the wall, you can choose fine powder Rs surface or Rw surface, you can use a lot of results, ask the Lord can go to the market to see such bricks, joint design drawings, looking for satisfactory methods and way.
Q:I‘m going to install a porcelain tile floor. My question is when I install a tile up against a cabinet that people can see. Should I but the tile up against the cabinet or should I leave enough space to grout between the tile and the cabinet. Just wondering what the standard practice is , and what looks the best. Also I have a small crack in the concrete, which the tile company said it was so minor that not to worry about it. Although it caused a crack in my old tile that was originally installed. I would really like to prep the crack prior to installing the new tile. What would you recommend doing to prep the crack. Thanks
I had a ceramic tile floor installed 5 years ago and I am still pleased. Remove the cabinets and tile under them if possible. If not tile right up flush to the cabinet. Have them cut some tiles about 3 wide and have them grouted onto the cabinet with a grout radius on top. You want the joint between tile and cabinet watertight (grout) if possible. If not a small bead of silicone with help keep moisture from penetrating the cabinet material. If you can put a tile on the crack without it rocking about, do not worry about it. It it rocks take a masonry chisel to the high area and get a level surface. A low spot can get filled with grout, not a problem. An uneven mount surface will break a tile over time, get it level. If there is evidence of water seepage/ wicking through the crack, you need to make it waterproof. Forget the installer that tells you not to worry about a uneven floor, he will be long gone and full of excuses as to why it broke. Do not forget to seal the grout lines per sealant instructions.
Q:Or must I use Duraroc board or a similar item. Also can I use a ceramic wall tile on the floor ? I know they are of different thicknesses but would the wall tile hold up on a floor? Thanks for all the help.
You can tile over sheetrock, but if it is painted with a paint with gloss, you need to sand the wall to remove the gloss first. If the tile is above the tub where it will be wet on a regular basis, you should replace the sheetrock with Durarock or hardibacker. Wall tile can be used on the floor, but should be installed over durarock or hardibacker. In addition the sub-floor and underlayment should be at least 1 1/4 thick if the floor joists are on 16 centers, thicker if the span is wider. The biggest concern with wall tile is that it is usually glossy and slick, which means it will be extremely slick to the point of being hazardous, especially wet.
Q:How to remove paint from wall tile in our 1929 home? Floor tile is original and in excellent shape. Help?!?
What type of paint and what type of tile? What is the base to your paint, in other words. Different paint and different tiles have different answers. Often with older ceramic tile and if you don't use oil based paint... you can simple take a fingernail and scrape it off easily with no damage to tile. You can try a small razor blade and be very very careful about it, which is what i've done many times. Paint thinner can help, mineral spirits as well. But can hurt many different types of tile. But without knowing specifics, i can't give a specific answer to the best method of getting the paint off.
Q:My husband and I laid 4x4 square ceramic tiles on our counter tops. We have sealed them and everything....So the question I have is how do you get rid of the sandy resadue on the tiles from doing the grout work?
Hi! It's kind of hard to get the dull surface from the grout off of the tile surface. If you did a countertop, you should have used non-reinforced grout (no sand). The dull surface and sand is usually completely removed with a natural sponge and water before the grout is sealed. It takes some work.
Q:Why should the tiles be soaked before the tiles?
Tile water method: to find a large basin, so that the brick can be completely immersed. However, we must pay attention to gently, to prevent the porcelain out of porcelain. Tile soaked in water is to prevent the absorption of water cement mortar moisture, so as not to cause hollowing, shedding, and even cracks, especially for the wall paving, wall paving before the need for water sprinkler work, is the truth The Tiles more or less there will be some pores, before the shop soaked in water, is to allow its pores full of water, and porcelain tiles because of the larger density, porosity is much smaller, also makes the water absorption is very low.
