- You say 4x4 tiles but they rarely really are 4x4. They are usually 4 1/4 or 4 3/8. T Tile company's will figure 8 pcs per s/f and since ( given your figures) you have 28.45 s/f... 4098 divided by 144 (square inches pe s/f) you get 28.45 s/f. Times this by8 you get 227.6 tiles (228). Box size will tell you ut on average there is either 10 or 12 s/f per bow depending on the manufacturer.10% scrape age is a bit high since your dealing with so many tile per s/f. 30 s/f of is plenty, using your figures. - Maybe. It all depends on the nail size and the type of flooring. My father is a professional tile layer. And I know from his words that if your pets mess on the tile, the grout will get stained. Then, you will have to scrub them or re grout them. It really isn't good for the tile either when it gets scratched. It can turn into a crack then split! So, Linoleum May work. But, definitely not tile! Good luck! =]

- I don't know what type of tiles you have, but if it doesn't have a glazed finish, you may not be able to do much about it. - Most tiles are made to be flat and there are some that aren t. On occasion ( and I m not defending your tiler) tiles can be warped and uneven. Especially when you get into the bigger sizes or tiles that are a bit cheaper. Porcelains tend not to do this but unfortunately some times happens in ceramics. I d have to see a bare or uninstalled ( several tiles) and look at them. So if you have extra tiles look carefully at a hand ful. Set them on a flat surface , look down the edges or use a straight edge on them. Like I said, I m not defending him or her, it does happen and no amount of adjusting will fix a warped tole. - Hello Most of the tile makers now use dust clay(fine powder) .they have a standard 6x6 two part mould that they fill with a set amount of the powdered clay insert the filled mould in to a fly press of similar type of press remove from the mold decorate glaze and fire in the kiln. this is just to give you some idea. The traditional way is to use plastic clay that's wet clay that you can press into a tile mould by hand or a small press remove leave to dry and then fire when fully dry.You can fine a few help full books on the internet or the Library.
