You ll need to check exterior doors to make sure they ll open..A special modified thin set is strongly recommended and allow a minimum of 2 days (long if possible) before any foot traffic goes on the tile.This because there is no where for the thin set moisture to go and you don t want to break the bond.. No special prep work is needed aside from thoroughly cleaning the tile and grout. Don t set grout joint over grout joint if you have the same size tile.. - It is possible to paint tiles. Both Dulux and Crown offer Tile Specific paints in a small range range of colours. However this is meant more for bathroom wall tiles or kitchen splash back wall tiles. I would not advice this for floor tiles as with time this paint will scratch off etc due to traffic. Ronseal do a floor paint that they class as 'diamond hard' though again depending on the glaze and material of the floor tile this might still be unsuitable. - If the laminate isn't peeling you can tile right over that. Sand with coarse sandpaper....clean with TSP.....prime with oil-based kilz-it. Let that dry and start tiling. Don't use a premixed adhesive and grout all in one. It won't stand up to the moisture. Get the correct thinset for the tiles you will be using.

- Tile will stick to plywood just fine. People use wonderboard for a couple of reasons. First, if the surface can get wet (like a bathroom floor or a shower wall), the wonderboard will not get damaged by water that might seep between cracks in the grout. Second, wonderboard is less flexible than wood for a given thickness. For a wood subfloor, any flexing can lead to cracking of the grout and/or the tiles. If the wood is thick enough (1/2 to 3/4 inches) and firmly secured to the subfloor with lots of screws, it shouldn't flex to the point where the tile or grout is damaged. If it does crack later on, you can always regrout the damaged areas.

I think you mean vinyl flooring real linoleum is old and very expensive. to put vinyl down the floor must be perfectly flat otherwise the pattern will show through and it will probably rip. you would have to mud it to make it flat first. Go check what it would cost to have it mudded and have vinyl installed. I think you might decide it is not so ugly after all

- Yes!! Scrape as much of the old glue away from the wall since anything you add will make the tile stick out farther than it did before. Next let it dry if its wet. Than apply some loctite adhesive to the back of the tile. Push the tile in until it is flush with the other tile. About four good size lines of glue will do it. Around the edges and then 4 vertical lines. This will allow the glue to expand and not hold the tile out. Wipe off any extra glue now . It hard to get off later. Let dry over night and than buy a matching grout to finish the job, Follow the instruction on the box. Good luck

- No so fast my friend...... have you ever wonder how heavy a piece of 1`granite is? If it is big bench, you probaly need two persons to lift it on. If it is granite tiles, weight a piece totally up first try to put on some thing of similar weight on top the bench see what happens. Before you do anything, check your existing counter top's support. If it is using normal laminated chipboards by gluing of screwing together, I suggest that you check with the local hardware/DIY shop first. ie You may need additional supports. The last thing you need is the whole bench or table collapsing on your foot!?.......tata.
