- Q: Hi I have a 94 Cadillac Deville 4.9L and im trying to figure out with cable on my alternator is the power cable and which one is the ground. I have included a pic to help.
- usually only power wires run to the alternator, most arent grounded by a wire, they are grounded through their case and the mounting brakets to the engine, but all charging systems are a little different. I see your ground runs to the mounting bolt, and so that wire that goes to the mounting bolt on the alternator would be your ground wire to the battery. the large wire on the back of the alternator in your picture has BAT beside it, that is the wire that would be the power wire back out to the battery. i would suggest to get a haynes or chilton manual for this specific vehicle if your not sure of things such as this.
- Q: Hi,I am trying to install a new dvd drive into an old xbox 360.Can anyone tell me which way around the power cable goes into the back of the drive?Both connectors have two empty pin sockets and one of the connectors has a black dot on it.Does the one with the black dot on it go into the motherboard or the DVD drive?Thanks.

- It's a universal AC power cord. The same one you would use for most other flat panels, desktop pcs, and the PS3. Go to your local Best Buy. They have them in 2 places: Playstation 3 accessories or the PC cable isle in Computers. $10 give or take a couple bucks.
- Q: I have been doing research online and have found replacement power cables from Kimber, Nordost, PS Audio, Cardas, Monster and Audioquest. While Kimber did win an award in Audiophile magazine, the write up for PS Audio's SC statement cable appears to be very good as well. Nordost makes a great product too, but have read some complaints that it actually cheats the bass. So I am basically looking to see if anyone owns any of the replacement cables from these companies or what they could recommend as a good replacement power cord.
- This question does not make sense. Power cord for what equipment? Most audio and video equipment comes with the power cord attached or uses a standard 3 prong 110v power cable that you see on computers. A power cord should not affect quality. To improve quality, you should have a power conditioner or line conditioner to clean the power going to your equipment. Please elaborate on what you are trying to do.
- Q: is it possible to run a 2-wire AC power cable (2x2.5mm2 or thicker) from the telephone junction box to the inside of the house instead of using an ordinary thin phone cable? will that affect the voice quality or maybe an ADSL setup? the distance is approximately 50 meters.thanks a lot.
- telephone wire is twisted pair.. which reduces interference, and induction problems... using electrical cable in place of phone cable would work but not without acting like an antenna and picking up all kinds of back ground interference... as well as potentially degrading the signal for your DSL...
- Q: The other day I found an imac g5 17computer in my alley. It probably doesn't work but I was just curious about what cables/accessories I need for it. - Power cable, USB keyboard, USB mouse. That's it. Find a power cable (any old computer power cable will work) and see if it even powers on and does anything first. Crack it open. Set it on its face, then undo the three screws across the bottom. They do NOT come out. They only loosen up until you can't turn them anymore. The back pops off. Look for any swollen or leaking capacitors. If you find any, then it's junk. If you don't, then see if there's any RAM in it. If not, toss some PC3200 DDR RAM in there and see if you get anything.

- If you want to find out what cables you need there are two ways. 1. check the manual or guide that came with the device to see if it says what cables you need. 2. take the device with to a hardware or electronics store and ask the clerks there to help you find the right cables for you're device.

- Euro is 220v to 250v or thereabouts, U.S. is only 110v. That's why your old PSU blew up. You needed to buy a step down voltage converter for avout 15 Euros or so. The Xbox PSU itself will handle the mains for whichever country it was designed for and convert the power to a DC voltage of 12v for any Xbox 360.
