Q: I heard that ceramic tiles absorb water and we have ceramic tile in the downstairs bedroom. After I wash the tile floor how long do I wait until I can move our dressers and furniture back on the tile? Because once I bring in the dressers I don‘t think the tiles will have a chance to dry because it is fully covered by the dressers, right?

Q: Tiles of choice, how to see the quality of tiles is good or bad
To see what to buy tiles, the ground or the wall is not the same as the identification method
Q: I want to lay tile in my living room and I am on a fixed income. I have never done anything like this and so I do not know how hard it will be for me to do.
We've done a lot of tile work and have learned a lot. Most books and websites have all the inof you need to know. If it's your 1st job, don't get too crazy w/the design, which can require more cutting. BUT, we have learned that the REAL CHEAP (like under .99/sq. ft.) tile from the superstores is hard to work w/since each tile it NOT the same size. This makes it hard to get straight grout lines. The tile we have bought from the tile stores have been better quality and youn can still find nice stuff in the .99 - $1.50 sq. ft. range. They are also a wealth of information! Good luck.
Q: How to completely remove the double-sided adhesive on the tile?
First of all, we can use the removal of nail polish to clean the water to see, but because the light to the water is likely to make the original color of the wall also followed off, so it is recommended in the obvious small places try more insurance. Or, we can take a piece of vinegar covered with dry cloth, to cover the entire double-sided adhesive traces of the place, until the double-sided adhesive sticky stains completely wet, you can use the ruler easily removed.
Q: I‘m remodeling my kitchen back splash and bathroom shower and i love the Moroccan tiles. Does anyone know any source for Moroccan tiles in San Francisco, California?

Q: but, not all the same time b/c I can‘t afford it. which project should be done first? a friend told me it is better to replace the tiles first because the dust is not good for paint.paint vanities orreplace tiles orreplace the bathtub?
tile goes up to the tub so ide do the tub first so u dont have to mess up the edge's on your new tile
Q: I am tiling my kitchen and My house was a prefab. and OLD. The plywood used was 1/2 (I measured it). what thickness of backboard/cement board should I use for under the tile and on top of the plywood? I was thinking 1/2 backerboard/cement board so there is 1 of subfloor under the tile. Do you think this is enough? Also, I am tiling around my cabinets, what do I do about the dishwasher? Do I tile around it? If I tile under it, it won‘t fit in the spot then. I was going to tile around it... I do have room to tile under the fridge though. There is space above.

Q: We are renovating our bathroom and I don‘t want to take out the existing vanity just update it, we were considering tiling the countertop, can we go right over the existing laminate or should we remove the whole counter top, or is it possible to just take off the laminate?
I tiled over the laminate in my kitchen by sanding the laminate with coarse sandpaper....priming with oil-based kilz-it and then tiled and grouted. It's still in the kitchen for over 7 years. You could also remove the countertop from the cabinet and replace with 1/2 plywood topped with 1/4 cement board but you would have to cut out the whole for the sink. Tiling over it is much easier. Just figure out your tile layout. I used 12 tiles for my custom countertop in my bathroom.
Q: Cleaning tiles is a lot of work because they attract mildew, soap scum, etc. Now that the cleaning and scrubbing is done, what‘s next? What‘s an easy and environment-friendly way to maintain tiles? Also, if you have a suggestion for keeping a bathtub clean, that would be appreciated as well. Thanks!
eww... think of all the soap scum and mold that will grow in the nooks and crannies of the tiles. you'll need to clean a lot to keep it under control.
