- Q: Is light from bulbs, the same as light from the sun?
- Basically, yes. The colour (wavelength) from a bulb tends to be one colour, whereas the sun gives out lots of colours, but if you looked at one photon (particle of light) from a bulb you wouldn't be able to tell if it was from the sun or a bulb. If you looked at photons from the sun, some would definitely be the wrong wavelength for a bulb but they are still electromagnetic in nature.

- They save energy by not being turned on. if never manufactured, the savings is monumental, but not realized. I guess we look at candlepower or lumens instead of just Watts. Electrically excited clouds of ionizing halides gives more lumens per watt than a white hot tungsten slivery filament.

- Q: Do electron microscopes use visible light like compound light microscopes do?
- no. They use a stream of electrons. The smallest thing that you can see with visible light is determined by the wavelength of light. It's pretty small, a few hundred nanometers depending on the color. Electrons are much smaller though, so that's why they have greater resolution than visible light. An electron microscope can resolve detail at the level of pico meters, which is 1000 times smaller than what you can get with visible light. Usually, the subject that you want to observe with an electron microscope is coated with gold so that more of the electrons will reflect off of it. - Q: Kitchen and dining room lights are on the same breaker. Dining room lights and one kitchen light will not turn on. Checked the breaker know it works because other kitchen light works.
- After turning off breaker for safety I would open up the light that works and check that wiring is intact if wires are secure then go to the next in line which should be other kitchen light not working and my guess is that has to be disconnected wires. the wires will either be on screws of light base or marreted or even taped together, black to black and white to white. Failing that it means you have a break in the wire some where in the ceiling between good and bad light If your confident enough you could disconnect bad light wires at good light attach new wire there and pull through to good lamp
