- Q: is speed of light variable or constant?Does the speed of light of an object depends on the energy produced and given out of the object to produce light?
- As far as anybody knows, the speed of light in a vacuum is constant; in fact, it is the ONLY speed that is constant. If you measure the speed of anything moving slower than light (that is, everything BUT light), your measurement will depend on your own speed as well as the speed of the object you're measuring. In other words, there is no absolute reference frame for sub-light speeds. However, if you measure the speed of light it will be the same regardless of how fast you are moving. That's because time slows down for objects that are moving very quickly, and your perception of light speed will be the same regardless. The energy of light does not affect its velocity through a vacuum in the least. In a transparent material like glass or air, the energy of light DOES slightly affect its speed. That's why prisms can separate white light into its various components; red light is less energetic than violet light, meaning that they have slightly different speeds through glass and therefore bend at slightly different angles. - photosynthesis requires light to split water and transfer electrons down an electron transport system to make ATP. that is the light reacation. the 2nd step is the use of that ATP along with CO2 in the dark reaction//krebs cycle, to make ATP, O2 and glucose.

- While most light can be made to flash or strobe UV lights are not used in this fashion because there is no advantage to doing this. strobe lights must be able to light very quickly so this precludes fluorescent and most UV is of the fluorescent variety.

- Yes indirectly. Light uses current or electrical power. Electrical power uses oil, gas, coal or any similar thing to generate itself. When we use them to generate electricity we pollute the atmosphere, use the resources and waste energy as heat, since the efficiency is less for each conversion. Third law of thermodynamics says energy can neither be created nor be destroyed. So while generating electrical power we generate heat, dust and chemicals which in turn pollute the atmosphere.

- It takes about 8 mins for the sun's light to reach us. So I am assuming that it doesn't. Or at least not directly. Maybe bouncing off of the atmosphere, or the moon. (But those are just wild guesses)
