- Q: I am only interested in what happens when the fibres actually come togetherNone of the web sources make any sense, are too vague in their descriptions so far (Wiki, Youtube videosall rubbish so far)I want to understand this though: Fibres get fed into the open-end spinning machine through one entrance, where they get picked up by a rotating arm, and that then doeswhat, actually? Wraps it around a cylinder? And then, what next?
- I've had good luck with Riders International and BMB blankets.
- Q: I would never buy from a ''furrier'' or whatever it's called, but I have seen fur coats in antique stores from maybe the 50s or even older, so the animals killed to make them have been long deadMy thought it that not buying it won't solve anything, it will just go to wasteI really want one because it's so softbut what would happen if i wear it in public? would I get reprimanded for it? I don't know because I have never seen a person wearing a fur coat irlYou might say it's because they are ugly, but some of them are really nice imo, and it really depends what you wear it with I thinkgt;wgt;
- It really depends on where you areMy father did a two year stint in Brochet, Manitoba as a radio operator - an incredibly remote northern place with primitive conditions and a horribly harsh climateIn addition, the small village was primarily native peopleThe Canadian government provided my father with a hooded coat lined with wolf fur Apparently there is something unusual about wolf fur in that one's breath does not condense on it (meaning the hood/face mask does not become a big slab of ice due to one's breath) It's been 50 years but he still talks about that coatIn some places fur is totally acceptable due to cultural traditions and economic/climactic realitiesHowever, in most places where fur is not part of the cultural tradition and/or is not needed for survival/comfort, many people will see it as decadent, unnecessary, violent and ugly You live in a free country With freedom comes choices and consequences On the up side, you can wear what you want, like and what makes you feel comfortable and attractive On the down side, other people are going to think what they think and say what they sayYes, I DO think, depending on where you are, some people will give you dirty looks or judge you or even worse if you wear fur, even used furIt's up to you to decideHow much do you love the fur and how much crap are you willing to take over it? :-) P.S I completely understand the compulsion to wear warm, soft animal goodness That being said, I am an avid knitter and create my own luscious garments out of fibers spun from animals that does not require the animal be killed Merino wool (from sheep), angora wool (from rabbits) and tussah silk (silk from WILD worms in their natural environment, not farmed) make wonderful socks, hats, shawls, scarves, sweaters, etc It is expensive stuff - I have spent as much as $60 on ONE ball of yarn - but way worth it and it's still less expensive (and less controversial) than wearing fur:-)
- Q: How much weight do I need to lose in order to shred 1 to 2 pounds a week?I'm 17 Yrs old, 5'6 and my weight is 270For exercising, I on run on a treadmill for 30-33 min at 9-11amBurning between 300-400 calories depending on my incline.My calorie intake is around 500-1000Is that good or bad?Also, any tips?
- Google interchange years for the motor u have example: interchange year for 92 1.4 liter toyota they have a webpage(forgot) that shows what other cars and years have same motor and u could put interchange 92 camry 1.4 liter(not sure liter sizE u actually have
- Q: The blow in insulation seems quite expensiveIs there a way to take down the drywall without damaging it, only bc we cannot fit large drywall up the hallway and the stuff already installed is in great shape.
- Make a hole in the drywall wall adequate to get the insulation batts through the wall so the wall and / or floor can be installed behind the wallPatch the wall when doneMake the cut out stud to stud and of the correct heightTake your time and cut it out neatly on the center of the studWhen you are complete behind the wall, screw the removed piece in place with a couple screws and call it an access panelIf you want it to look better run a 1 x 4 around the cut perimeter, over the cut edges, screw only the 1 x 4 in place at the corners and again, call it an access panel.
- Q: at school, we have this project and we have to use a water bottle and use three materials around it, such as fiberglass, wool, and suchso i have to pick out the three best insulatorsi know fiberglass, wool, bubble gum wrap, and foam are some good onescan YOU choose the top three best heat insulators and name them? and pls explain why as wellif possible, pls list your sources and give a websitethanks10 points for best answer, i swear!!! :D thx again
- metal like aluminum is a poor insulatorHowever, a layer of aluminum foil can prevent heat from escaping via radiation (more on this below)Best insulators are materials like ceramic (as in dishes, also as in the ceramic tiles use on the space shuttle) and materials that have lots of air bubbles inside them, like styrofoam, as is used in coffee cupsBubble wrap is fairly good but only for large objects where you can use lots of itSpun fiberglas is fairly good, as is wool, both because they trap air in themA vacuum, as in a vacuum thermos, is very good, as there is no conduction or convection There are several ways heat can be lost Conduction, the objects have to be touchingMetal conducts heat very wellAvoid this by using only materials with low thermal conductivity, like most plastics, styrofoamConvection, via air circulationAvoid this by keeping the air still and contained, eg, bubble wrapRadiation, a hot object will radiate to a cold object, even through a vacuumA shiny surface like Al foil will reflect much of the backEvaporation (liquids only), water will lose heat as it evaporates into the surrounding airHot water loses a LOT of heatUsing a closed container will negate this.
- Q: I am buying a house and during the home inspection we found that the attic is about 80% covered in black moldThere is no vent leading outside of the houseWhat can we ask the seller's to do to fix this? What is the best way to fix it? 5 years down the road I don't want to have the same problem if we try to sell the house.
- Cooking it open would help but always wait after taking it out of the oven for at least 15 minutes to let the juices settle back in the meat(This goes for ALL meats).What I would recommend is a nice Hot cast iron or a pan that can handle high heat(some non stick pans give off an unhealthy smoke when faced with high heat) and sear both sides of the pork chop for only a few minutes to maybe 5 (if you can't get you pan as hot Oh,and use some sort of fat in the pan to prevent sticking) then finish them in the oven.This will give you that great browning and also by finishing it in the oven you will have a uniform texture and throughout the whole chop plus there won't be any burnt spots or pink spots.REMEMBER to let it rest though to save those Juices,Your patience will be rewarded,Hope that helps,Good LUCK.
- Q: I can't sleep in a hot houseI may be the only person, but I prefer my room to be 55-50, almost like a freezerWith a pile of blankets and pillows, and a completely dark roomAll of that for me equals the best sleep ever.
- i liked it.it could be a tad better, just adding like.more descriptive words and adding more exciting vocabularythe one thing i would do is tie together the beginning and the end.like, you jump around a bitwhy does she not get into the elevator? .why is she even IN an elevator in the first place? if you added a few more senteces as to how that conneced to the you tell, you die part, it would be betterjust my opinion! it sounds lovely though.
- Q: We are renting to own a house and do not have much extra money in order to have our cental air unit inspectedThe house was built back in 1940s but the whole downstairs has been remodeledThe bedrooms are upstairs and both have closets that feel like they get up to 90 degrees in the summerwe also have an attic and a very old bathroom up there that never gets cooled off by the central air unitWe keep the thermon 72 and it gets freezing downstairs but upstairs still feel crazy hotShould we shut the vents up there are put in a window unit or will this just mess up our central unit or not even work because of the atic?
- Some place to sleep, a tent,sleeping bagFood to cook, utensils,stove,way to make a fireWater if none availableChanges of clothes, swim suittowelsWay to wash upExperience will tell you the other things you will need.
- Q: anyone ever made a blanket using this type of yarn? preferably crochet but knitting answers are fine toojust want your feedback on this product.
- you need animal fiber because synthetic and plant fibers won't take the kool aid dye very wellthe colors won't be as bright or as permanent as they would be on animal fibersyou can still give the t-shirts a try if you like, just the effects will be better on animal fibersjust google dying yarn w/ kool-aidyou'll get pages and pages of hitsI've attached a link below that I think is one of the better oneshave fun!
