- Q: Hi,how does Space Shuttle columbia relate to thermal energy transfer? Thanks so much!! :)
- Do you have a kettle for boiling water for tea? Put the eggs in the kettle, fill with waterBring to a boilTurn off heat set timer for 12 minutes for medium eggsA bit longer for larger eggs a bit less for smaller eggsThis will also work with electric kettle for boiling water.
- Q: Ideas for Fashion Week Sweet 16.?I need so much help.i want to have a high fashion sweet 16i want to have a runway showa candy drink barbut i have no ideas for the invitations or centerpieces PLEASE HELP ME.!!! lol
- Stay here, that's what I and a lot of others are doing.
- Q: Turn out blanket questions?
- Stare, grinning, at another passenger for a while, and then announce: I've got new socks on! Stare at another passenger for a while, then announce You're one of THEM! and move to the far corner of the elevatorBlow your nose and offer to show the contents of your kleenex to other passengers Grimace painfully while smacking your forehead and muttering: Shut up, dammit, all of you just shut UP! Announce in a demonic voice: I must find a more suitable host bodyOn the highest floor, hold the door open and demand that it stay open until you hear the penny you dropped down the shaft go plink at the bottom.
- Q: My water heater is in my basement which stays really coldDuring the winter we run out of hot water quicker when all of us are taking showersWill a water heater blanket help?
- I don't think a water heater blanket would be of much help, hereThe temperature inside the heater is regulated by thermostatA water heater blanket might reduce the recovery time a bit, and would certainly save you some energy (money)Are the hot water pipes exposed in the basement? Insulating the pipes might make a significant improvementWith the pipes insulated, you'd be delivering hotter water to the shower, and your family members would use less of it.
- Q: I have been in my new home for only a few months now and have been trying to cut heat loss and energy consumption by adding insulation to the basemant, replacing vents with better ones, etcIf my water heater feels cool to the touch, should I put more insulation around it or is it a waist of money? There is 1 inch rigid pink insulation under the heater, which is good, but if I can help it more i will.
- If your goal is saving energy, then yes, purchase an after-market insulating blanket for the heaterIt will make a differenceAnother thing you can do is slightly lower the temperature of the heaterExperimentYours may have actual number designations, or something like a Normal setting, with room to move the setting higher or lowerTry positioning the dial slightly below Normal Heaters vary, but if you are heating water to say 115 or 120, then cooling it down to 105, then you are wasting energyHuman skin burns at 106, so there is no need to have it any hotter then that, anywayDishwashers will heat their own water to their washing temperature required for the machineWeatherstripping around all doors and windows is also very important If your basement has a ceiling (the underside of your upstairs floors) you can either remove the existing ceiling drywall and put in insulation if there is none, or do just that, add insulation, then a ceiling of drywallThat will greatly help with your home heating costs And, don't forget the attic insulationMost heat loss transfers through the ceiling/roof of a house (after windows) If your windows are older, single pane type, consider replacing them with modern dual-paneThat money invested will translate into huge energy savings - and a quiter homeGood Luck Mike
- Q: celbrities do it! how can anyone else?
- split ends are inevitable but ways to prevent them are using a heat tamer spray that will protect your hair from the heat ( i use tresemme thermal creations), using damage control shampoo ( nexus promend), using a leave-in conditioner weekl ( pantene intensive restoration treatment), using a ceramic straightener which reduces damage on hair, getting a trim on your hair every six weeks to keep hair from looking damaged (this is usually what the stars do which is why their hair looks so sleek!), and just reducing the use of heat on your hair ( straightener, curling iron, blow dryer, hot water in showers).
