Q: If humidity of a spacecraft is too high, how can it affect a crew and its equipment? what if it was too low?my sister did not get to go on her field trip but they gave her the worksheet this is the only question she cant answer please help!
It would be very difficult for it to be too low which would have to happen by some defect in the moisture extraction system. If it did, people would have skin cracking problems and dry mouth like we do on earth in winter in heated spaces, but equipment would be fine. Since the atmosphere is constantly recirculated with oxygen added and CO2 removed, the moisture from sweat and breathing would build up like it does in a car when people are necking inside - most noticeable in winter. So there are dehydration devices to keep it down. If it were allowed to build up, it would condense on the cold surfaces of the craft and could drip into electronics and corrode or short circuit them (not iodize them)
Q: I have a dental Lab in Europe an want to move it to the States, maybe. Some of the equipment rates as high as 4kw, and the the total maximum draw is 15 kw for the whole lab. Can I wire a secondary breaker box in a building in the United States that is all 220?
Sell it off in Europe and start off with new equipment in the States. All European electrical appliances operate on 50 Hz/cycles when American appliances use 60 Hz. It's not feasible to adapt the change. There is 220V service available here but it's all 60Hz. EDIT: If the equipment is rated for 50/60 Hz you can use it here, you'll have to bring in an electrician to provide the power for it that can produce a stable/clean 220V. Most of the time higher voltage equipment will be rated to perform between 208-230V although having a single-phase power supply for 220V is feasible provided your equipment is indeed single phase. I'd think that what you have for a dental lab wouldn't require three phase power, best to consult with a master electrician before you commit to shipping your stuff stateside to be sure. Good luck.
Q: i want to make a bulb on and off at intervals of say half an hour. readymade timers available in shops(india) costs much and does not support shorter intervals like half an hour. any cheaper electronic circuit which can do this control? from where can i get the circuit or its diagram?
Depending on your skills, a CMOS 555 timer chip could probably drive a solid state switch (triac) for this interval although a more reliable timing, especially if you want exactly a 50% duty cycle, by feeding the timer output into a counter, so that the 555 cycles say 32 times (once a minute about) for each change of state of the selected output. Smaller cycle times are more stable.
Q: i would like to know more about the functions of this room. What is the role of this room in electrical distribution in a building? What i know,an electrical components need to get through this room such as for lighting+ac, power socket, and essential power.
A riser room is where the electrical distribution equipment ( Switchgears and Panels) that supplies the electrical systems of the building is located. Electrical conduits that feed the various equipment, A/C units and sub panels and fire pumps originate here.
Q: I'd like to know what's the difference between the two in terms of what they study about, what projects/equipment they do and also if they have similarities. Thanks! :)
Most schools post ther curriculum online. Look at the website of the school you wish to attend and look at the two curricula.
Q: I bought an appliance and it says I need a 15 amp NEMA (standard) outlet to plug it into. The picture looks like that of a household plug outlet, 2 prongs and 1 bar, but drawing is round instead of oval. Says if not available to call electrician. Are these the same (household outlet and the NEMA 15 amp)?
What they are describing is a single outlet rather than the normal duplex outlet that we are all familiar with. They want you to have a dedicated single outlet protected by a 15A. circuit breaker. Most house receptacles are on a 20A. circuit and for some reason they want you to protect the appliance with only 15A. hence the different receptacle. Since you do not state what appliance this is I cannot advise you if the regular duplex 20A. receptacle would be OK to use. If they want you to use the NEMA 5-15R it would be best to follow their recommendation and have a dedicated line run protected with a 15A. breaker. I just noticed that you asked about the six outlet power bar. This is not exactly what they want but those power bars are usually protected with a 15A. mini breaker. You could use that but do not plug anything else into the other outlets on the bar and try to connect the power bar into a dedicated line. It seems that the appliance manufacturer wants the device protected by a 15A breaker and does not want the power robbed by anything else plugged into that circuit.
Q: i have some powerful amps and other electrical equipment in my car and am wondering if all of that is pulling so much that it is affecting performance
Performance in the sense of miles per gallon? Yes. Performance in the sense of speed? Yes. Powerful amps tend to weigh a lot - and that increases the mass of your car. Is it significant? Depends on your power to weight ratio.
Q: I need some opinions on why do we recycle, computers, tv, cellphones, etc.I know it saves the environment because if we throw it away, it would just end up in landfills but is there anymore reasons?
They are made from a number of valuable materials. Gold, for one. Its used on connectors as it doesn't tarnish or corrode, making the connection reliable. They also use a number of poisonous heavy metals. Letting used computers go into the garbage dump allows those metals to leach out and possibly pollute the water supply. Recycling keeps down that pollution by reusing those metals.
Q: definition
that girl really waffles on.an rcd monitors current flow between active and neutral. If an imbalance is detected between active and neutral it will mean that this imbalance is travelling to earth. The rcd's sensing equipment detects this leakage current and operates the release mechanism in turn switching off the power supply provided the leakage is equal or greater than the rcd rating ie 30mA
Q: Affect Health? Noise problem?
Depends on the devices, I lived below a cell tower (literally 1m over head, installed on the top of my building). After doing as much research as I could on it, I found that no one really knows for certain the effects of radio waves on humans. If your major concern is just large voltage electricals, the greatest risks are fire, a small magnetic field might interfere with your devices occasionally, and constant low hum.
