Q:Assuming that it is safe to do so as far as people not getting hurt, will it damage the electrical equipment?: it can damage certain appliances, yes. for example, it probably wouldn't harm your toaster, but it's probably a bad idea to unplug your PC randomly. you might lose valuable information, files, and you might even cause the computer to act unresponsive or even crash. it all depends on the appliance.

Q:97 dodge avenger 2.5L V6 front wheel drive 4speed auto.For a little while now i felt a really light jerk type feeling in the engine during light accleration, shruged it off for needing tune-up and plan to take care of it on my next day off. Well today my speedometer droped about 40 MPH then right back to normal. Then a little bit later in the day it's doing the same but also at the same time as that problem the car will jerk like it's trying to stop itself. Q:I have had a problem for the last 15 years or so where I seem to interfere with electrical equipment. For example, I can't wear watches, I burn out tradition incandescent light bulbs like most people change their drawers, I get all kind of feed back from the intercom system in the hospital where I work (in the form of staticthe speakers actually go off as I walk down the hall.it's kind of a joke to my co-workers - some of who have decided I'm possessed - LOL), computers freeze up on me frequently and I completely fried our last home pc.any others out there with similar problems. I can't carry a cell phone in my pocket, I kill the battery. I kill the battery on Blue tooth ear peaces too. Computers don't FRY with me because I have all of mine on a surge protector. When I have a computer opened up to work on it, I wear a ESD band and ground myself. The reason you don't interfere with the equipment at work is because everything is grounded in hospitals! 3 prong plug ins. At home you can make sure all your lamps, and other electronics are grounded. You can get 3 prong adapters at the hardware store. If you put your radio on one you will find that it helps the reception too! I have NO idea what causes it, but your not alone.

Q:Hi all, i wish to travel to the states soon and would like to bring some electrical items back, as-well as clothes when i travel to New York. From research i have already learned that these goods brought back into the UK can total ?340. But my question is this, if i travel to the US with very little luggage - no clothes or electrical equipment. Then in New York i buy a nice laptop, ipod touch, digital camera (but take the electrical stuff in with my hand luggage) how will they be able to know if the items i want to bring on the plane were in fact brought with me from the UK to US and were already mine?Also if customs say that i have to pay tax for going over the ?340 - how much will it be? say e.g. on a $2000 laptop?: They might have a suspicion that you are importing items back to the UK (rather than having taken them there in the first place) when looking at the US-style electrical plugs. Given that these are not the same kind of plug as is used in the UK, you might raise suspicion when everything you bring back has US plugs (instead of UK plugs with a US adapter). I'd also note that failure to declare goods purchased abroad may make you liable for fines levied by HM Revenue Customs, as well as Customs seizing the goods. For purchases above the ?340 duty-free limit, the taxes paid depend on the total value.
