- Q: A question for electriciansi am getting a bachelors degree in entertainment technology. The apprenticeship program is closed but i would like to get a head start for the next go around. Should i go to school and get a masters in electrical engineering or should i become a grunt and get the experience? orwhat do you guys think? I know local 3 is hard to get intovery hard???
- Electrician and Electrical engineering are two different types of jobs. The following is from the sources listed below. Most electricians learn their trade through apprenticeship programs. These programs combine on-the-job training with related classroom instruction. Electricians install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications. They also may install and maintain the electronic controls for machines in business and industry. Electrical engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of electrical equipment. Some of this equipment includes electric motors; machinery controls, lighting, and wiring in buildings; automobiles; aircraft; radar and navigation systems; and power-generating, -controlling, and transmission devices used by electric utilities. Although the terms “electrical” and “electronics” engineering often are used interchangeably in academia and industry, electrical engineers have traditionally focused on the generation and supply of power, whereas electronics engineers have worked on applications of electricity to control systems or signal processing. Electrical engineers specialize in areas such as power systems engineering or electrical equipment manufacturing.
- Q: I know you need fuses for cars, electrical equipments, etc. I don't get what they are really used for?
- If there occurs a short circuit or an overload beyond the current rating of the fuse, the thing melts inside, breaking the contact, stopping current flow, and sending someone off in search of a new fuse rather than repairing the situation which blew out the last one. Nothing in the fuse breaks, it melts. A fuse is not a mechanical circuit breaker, which is an actual switch actuated either magnetically (in AC circuits) or a bimetallic strip which has the current going through it and gets hot enough on excessive current that it self-bends and breaks the connection temporarily, and can be reset. Once a fuse blows, it's over for that fuse.
- Q: I just moved into a house a week ago and for the past couple of days weird things have been happening. The night before last my tv in my bedroom changed channel by itself and also I had a playstation remote sitting on top of my playstation and that fell on its own. Last night I was laying in bed and my door opened by itself and I am 100% sure that it was shut all the way. And again in the middle of the night it changed channel. I'm starting to get scared because all of this happens when my boyfriend is at work and its just me and my two boys. Is my house haunted, and what can I do?Btw my house is probably 100 years old.
- Don't pay attention to this, this beings can't harm you nor your children unless you open yourself to him by feeling scared, they feed off the energy we call fear, the more energy you give him the worst it will be. If you just ignore this it will go away, every time you feel scared ask to your spirit guide to protect you. I have had many similar experimces with ghosts and now I can see and sense them.
- Q: (hairdressing)
- Anything you'd like to use. Conditioner isn't exactly dangerous.
- Q: If the poles switch will al of our electrical equipment still work? Or will it run in revers. Will migratory animals go the wrong way?
- Electrical stuff will function. The biggest danger is that during the transition, the field will have to go through zero. That means there will be no field to protect us from the solar particles in flares and the normal wind. That may cause high radiation counts at the earth's surface.
- Q: I am a mechanical engineer with limited EI information. In general terms, could someone succinctly describe the following terms: (a) HMI; (b) Gen-set; (c) PLC; (d) UPS; (e) SCADA / Citect; (f) MCC; (g) E-Stop; (h) PCS/SIS; (i) Murphy switch. I know it's a lot, so relatively short answers should be fine - just summed up concisely and correctly. Thanks in advance all you electrically-savvy people!
- HMI Human Machine Interface Gen-set Engine generator set for generating electricity PLC Program able Logic Controller used in factory automation UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply SCADA Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition industrial control system using HMI and PLCs Citect the software company that specilized in SCADA control MCC Motor Control Center E-Stop Emergency Stop Stop Control PCS/SIS PCS (Process Control Systems) and SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems) Murphy switch shutdown switch actuated when process parameters are not correct, like shutting down an engine when engine oil level is critically low.
- Q: I plan to major in electrical engineering. I wanted to know if the stuff I learn there will allow me to do things like fix machines and stuff.I picked this major because I wanted something I can use at home
- Electrical, Electronic and Common Sense come from the same roots. The electrician and electrical engineer compliment eachother.
- Q: do mechanical engineers also get involved with electronics?
- Engineering is usually a team sport. The mechanical engineer consults with the electrical engineer for the development of the product, then it gets reviewed for approval by the principal engineer.
- Q: 2)Please do include the details as to why does spark devlop wn connection at one end is loose. 3)How the +ve electrode retains itz polarity though it accepts the electrons continuously, in a closed circuit.
- 1) For laymen understanding, electrical grounding is a protection of your house against lightning, instead burning your house or someone inside your house gets fried. In your appliances, electrical grounding protects you from getting electrical shock in case one of the electrical wire touches the metal body of your appliance. Now on electronic grounding, it is a protection of a certain circuitry from getting damaged by an electrical charge from your body in case you touch it. 2) Electrical wire connection is like a water pipe connection. Electrical current passes through the wire while water current passes through the pipes. If there is a loose connection of a certain electrical wire, or loose pipe connections on your water pipes; The loose pipe connections will produce leaks while the loose electrical connections will produce sparks. 3) It always retain its polarity always. Just like magnets, it retains its polarity, north and south. Electricity is based on magnetism. Law of nature.
- Q: can an odd electrical field produce a link with the energy of those said to be at rest?can a electrical field be contained a directed within ones body.have you ever experienced truelly odd static or electrical fenomena around you?
- Gotta say yes. You can work with energy - moving, purposing. It's been proposed that houses with poltergeist (noisy ghost) activity have a significant source of power nearby and someone in the house is acting as a channel between the energy and the ghost. Some folks have trouble wearing watches, or have electrical equipment go haywire around them.
