Wood-Plastic Composite (WPC) floor accessory is manufactured from a combination of plastic, natural fiber and some additives using special equipments. - Q: Can anyone advise on why a solid concrete floor would be favourable over a suspended timber or beam and block ground floor.The building is to use strip foundation on a gravel soil. Half the ground floor is to accomodate a storage area used to hold plumbing materials, so the live loading will be reasonably high.Thanks
- It is cheaper to build a solid concrete floor than a suspended one and it can more easily be designed to hold more weight than can a suspended floor. Another advantage of a concrete floor is that animals (rats, mice, etc.) can not get under the building and live there. The disadvantage of a solid concrete floor is that concrete is porous and it tends to draw up moisture from the ground and anything sitting on the concrete for a long time can get wet. Of course, the gravel should drain away any water that gets under the building, but if the soil is clay or any soil that water might sit on for a long time, the water can build up under the house and the concrete floor can get wet. Another disadvantage is that any radon gas that might come up from the ground will get into the building. With a raised foundation at least some of that gas would be vented out and not as much would get into the building. I hope this helps.

Recently I have used "Bruce" hardwood floor cleaner and "Rejuvenate" which both claim to shine and not leave a residue. I have tried washing the floors with water but still can't get rid of it. - If you are using swiffers sweepers (those wet pads on push sticks) I suggest you stop. They pick up the dirt for the first few feet and the grind tiny scratches into your floor with the grit they picked up. Thus dulling the illustrious sheen...making your floor look like a bore.

Or a felt or leather square will do. Does the wax container have a recommendation? Is your weather humid? Unless you're in a great rush, I would wait at least three hours after it feels dry to the touch (your hand doesn't accurately measure dryness.) That's a lot of work, so I would be cautious.

- Yes, the floor is actually pieces of plywood with springs or foam blocks underneath. There's a 1-inch foam pad on top of the plywood, and then a carpet on top of that. A spring floor does help the gymnast bounce a little higher, but not really that much. Back in the 70s and earlier, gymnasts competed on thin foam mats, or even on a plain gym floor... and they were doing some pretty amazing tumbling skills even then. The main purpose of the spring floor is to prevent injuries. When the floor has a little more give, it's not as hard on the gymnast's joints when they tumble.

- I've been in hundreds of tall buildings around the world. I have never seen a building that did not have a floor labelled the 13th floor.
