Q: Is it to do with visibility?What are some other colours of cranes?: I think Red Oxide, protects best from corrosion, and red colour also warns about danger. We can see yellow colour also.

In order for their eggs to hatch and larvae to grow into adults, they require either water or damp, decaying material in which to lay their eggs, depending on the species. Crane fly larvae and pupae can be found in damp sod or compost piles, or under the decomposing leaves on the banks of rivers, streams, ponds or lakes. Crane fly larvae and pupae feed on decomposing material, grass and the roots of many plants. This makes them a beneficial insect, as they assist in the cycle of decomposition. Once they emerge in late winter or early spring as adults, after maturing over the winter, their primary purpose is to mate and lay eggs.

Q: Is there anything similar to the traditon where you fold 1000 origami cranes and you get a wish?: The 1000 paper cranes thing really only became popular after the 2nd world war- a girl in Japan was told she woudl have a wish granted if she did it in a lifetime. She had been a victim of hiroshima (or nagasaki, i forget), so she gave it a shot but ended up dying young from the illness before she reached her quota. The point is, if it does exist in other cultures, it'll likely only be a surface similarity, I'd imagine. I remember reading in a children's book once that every leaf you catch from a tree in the fall before it touches the ground counts as a day's good luck... but i dont know if that's an actual superstition or one made up for the story. Q: I know they will leave because last year they left after a few weeks. I have seen that they normally leave after a month. They annoy me and I want them gone. Leatherjackets were very common round here, and are a favourite food of the local crows .These leatherjackets transform into crane flies.Summer is their growth time.

Q: I have some cranes in our field next door and I was wondering do they eat chickens? I live in Wisconsin.?: Cranes wouldn't try to eat a full grown chicken. Although they can eat cooked chicken it is safe for them and they love it. Cranes may be aggressive with younger chicks but won't eat them. Hope this helped!

So the author wasn't thinking about ebooks back then and never signed a contract to make ebooks. See if your public library has a copy in paper. Amazon sells it in paperback and hardcover. Anyone that has a copy for free has stolen intellectual property and is cheating the author and publisher.
