- I don't know where they are made, but I can tell you that they are the best vacuum on the market! I love them and wish I had the money to buy one for myself. My old boss had one and it picked up everything off of every surface, even the dog hair. I used to love sweeping his office/house just cause I got to use the vacuum.
- Q: I have a Hoover Elite Rewind U5507-900 vacuum that needs a new belt. I mean the belt snapped off, so I know that's the problem but I cannot find what belt size I need! This is a vacuum that was handed down to me, so I never had the owners manual and when I did find one online, it doesn't tell you the belt size you need;
- Glad to help Daisy. If you look on the back of the vacuum there should be a sticker with the Model, Serial, and _replacement Belt numbers. If not, when you go to the Grocery Store or most any Department Store that sells Vacuum Cleaners will sell Belts too! The package should say: fits Hoover Elite and several other Models, If you have the old belt you can compare them. Also Daisy when you replace the Belt, check to see if anything caused the Belt to break other than just wear. Most often something gets wrapped around the Beater Bar, (Carpet Fiber/String/Thread/Etc.)something that stops the Bar, causing it to burn up the Belt! Good Luck!

- Q: what is the best bagged vacuum cleaner? I'm tired of the bagless cleaners and looking for one with a bag.?
- I have a purple Hoover wind tunnel bagged cleaner. I highly recommend it. I like the fact that the bags are made of a hepa type fabric, so it's like a new hepa filter everytime change the bag. Microfiltration I beleive they call it. The filter bags are a little expensive at about $8 for two. Type Y filter bags I beleive. The filter bags have to be changed when they are about half full, but sometimes I find tha the suction so effective that the bags are pretty well plugged when I realize that they need to be changed. Once I loaned my neighbour my Hoover because she had a vacum cleaner that was not working the facum of my cleaner was strong enough to pack the filter bag completely! Sometimes there is a smell when I use it, but again it means that the bag needs to be changed again. From my research, I would only get a really good bagged cleanter or a dyson. Those cheaper bagless vacum clenaers with 'hepa' filter are hopeless. As a bonus, my purple vacum clenaer can probably be had for less than $80 these days. Get a hoover with a type y filter bag and you'll be good.
- Q: don't say the noise, because i remember one occasion i was in my friends house and the dog started chasing me.so i ran round the table and reached for the vacuum (which wasn't on) and it immediately started to back off. now before you say something like it knows the noise....this Dog was a huge puppy.so i doubt MEMORY would have been great.
- Why would you use it to scare away a dog anyway? If anything you'd want the dog to associate it with something good. I guess the dog just disliked the noise and the way it moved about when its seen it before, it remembered this 'bad' experience and now dislikes the vacuum, thats why it needs to be assoicated with good things. Or just ignoring the dog until it is calm then praising...

- It completely depends on the vacuum cleaner whether the hose must be in place or not for the floorhead to have suction. Most of the cheap vacuums require the hose to be holstered because suction is through the hose, not other ducting. Dyson is an example of a vacuum that can be used with or without the hose in place.

- The review link you posted stated that Dyson Vacuum Cleaners are among the heavier and pricier vacuum cleaners on the market. I am a big believer in most of the research Consumer Reports does and it lists Dyson, but not as a reliable option. Most of them do have a bag to dispose of like most upright models but some do not. I have purchased the Eureka Boss Smart Vac Ultra 4870, and it is awesome. It was only around $125 but it is great and easy to use. It is also a Consumer Report Best Buy and that is against vacuums in the 3, 4, 5 hundred and even $1350 price range! It is heavier than I expected (about 20 pounds) but it really kicks some butt when in use. Again, it is so simple to switch from carpet to hardwood to the hose and has a clip to lock the power cord in place so it's not always in the way.
