- Q: I don't know which to do. What advances better? Also i would plan on trying to get into OCS before im 34 and be an officer in one of these jobs, which one?
- Storekeeper is logistics quartermaster, and there is always room for growth and promotion in logistics, especially for an officer. I would move fast, however, if you're approaching the age cap, because no age waivers are being given. Also, your MOS will depend heavily on your ASVAB.
- Q: My husband was hurt on the job 2 days ago, which required emergency medical care and surgery. He came close to losing his entire hand in a meat grinder accident. The grinder was supposed to have a safety mechanism, where if you lifted the lid, the machine would cut off, but it was not working. I am guessing he will be receiving workman's comp. benefits, but is this safety malfunction grounds for a lawsuit? It looks like his hand will never be fully functional. I'm afraid his career as a meat cutter is over. He doesn't have any other trade that he can do and his age is a factor (58). I'm afraid that he will be unable to work sufficiently after this accident.
- Three questions a lawyer will ask you. Guaranteed. 1. Did you husband report this violation AND did the company roger up they received this information. 2. Was your husband unaware the safety device was not working. 3. Is the equipment tested before use. Honest answers to these questions determine if you have a valid case. Best of luck to your husband. Respectfully, Judobigdog
- Q: mechanic technician who can weld or bachelors in engineering? Or probably both right? I am a guy who is really into the hands on building of machinery, but I want to actually have a role in designing as well. I am really debating on going back to school for engineering or mechanics/welding. I am 34, work full time, and would only be able to go to school part time. I really want to get into a field where I am building, designing, and testing new machinery. HELP!!!
- You really should finish an Mechanical Engineers degree. If you don't do it now, you'll just wish you had in 5 years and by then you'd likely be done. All of the things you describe will require an engineering degree. Oh, BTW, ME's can make about 2-3X what a welder does. Astrobuf
- Q: I am doing an energy audit for a plastic manufacturing company for my final year university project. The company runs on 3 phase and has a large variety of different machinery (blow molders, injection molders, compressors, refrigerators etc) I am required to measure each component and determine how much is contributed to the monthly electricity bill. What is the best way to do this? Is there any pieces of equipment I can use (such as something similar to the kill-a-watt) which can attach to the machine and measure kW usage? The machines run on demand so therefore taking an average from the specifications would be too inaccurate.NEED SOME HELP PLEASE :(
- If it runs on demand, whatever you put down will be correct. Let them prove you wrong! Or you could guestimate how long they are used each day and take the nameplate power rating off the machine, then do the math.
- Q: Hi I am an Science Graduate but joined a Manufacturing company as an account assistant. i have a question on depreciation. suppose i am calculating depreciation on a Machine for 5 years. After 5 years the asset value becomes zero. then how we have to treat this asset in Balance sheet. i have to pass an account entry etc... let me know if any one can answer this question clearly as i dont have any knowledge in accounts. please explain in details thank you sooo much
- You still treat it as an asset with a value of its original purchase price and under accrued depreciation you show the same (full) amount again, effectively resulting in a zero balance for this item.
- Q: Yeah, that's pretty much the question.....10 points to best.
- Hmmm, this is like asking how having a power cable be used to run a TV. A tv can't run without it. It's there are a lot of other things/factors/processes that enable the tv to run, but the power cord is still mandatory. Likewise for atp/adp recycling. It's not really used to run the machinery. It's a mandatory part of the metabolism of a cell. When ATP us used, energy is released from the ATP molecule. The byproducts of the reaction are reused. You can sort of think of them as rechargeable batteries.

- Q: can bacteriophages use the human DNA machinery for replication?
- No, humans are eukaryotic (with different enzymes for replication) whereas bacteriophages, which attack bacteria need prokaryotic replication machinery for successful completion of life cycle.
- Q: LOL Industrial mechanization!
- You need only three things to repair anything. duct tape, Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer.
- Q: the Agricultural Revolutionthe Industrial Revolutiondevelopment of collective bargaining
- Sorry, are those the options, or your guesses? I was going to say that the increased efficiency that came with farm labor-saving machinery, and mechanization more generally, led to plots of land growing in size and requiring less people to reap the harvest. Ultimately, this led to a huge influx of labor (people) into the cities looking for work (and eventually, the industrial revolution). Edit: Thank you for the clarification. As the other poster has said, the obvious dumb answer is the AR, but there were several other factors that contributed to that revolution other than mechanization, so it's not entirely correct. One could also argue that mechanization was a major stepping stone towards the IR.
