- Yes and No. Although all electronic engineers should have the basic knowledge, you can nowadays find that hardware engineers tend to specialise in either digital or analog electronics. A typical digital hardware engineer may struggle, while an analog engineer certainly can design audio equipment. I doubt that electrical engineers could do the job, they are specialised in power distribution.

- The two choices are PC Personal Computer or DTV Digital TV. Depending on what you're doing will determine the mode of operation. When in TV mode you use the TV controls to set the width and aspect ration of the display. When you're using the PC the graphics card will normally set the width and aspect ration. Ever notice that when you change resolution on a normal PC monitor that 640X480 uses just as much screen as when it's set to 1072X768. The graphics card adjusts the size. DTV mode will have the internal controls in your TV controlling the size and PC will have the graphics card in the PC controlling it. As I'm writing this another possibility came to mind. You may have an ATSC tuner (digital tuner) built into your HDTV. The TV may simply be asking you which source you want it to look at. In other words do you want to continue watching TV using the internal tuner or switch to looking at the PC information that is now available. Your best bet is to pick up the owners manual and read the section that tells you about hooking up your computer to the monitor. I'm sure that will explain what your asking for.

- Galactic man already gave it all but I just wanted to wish you good luck in your studies. I just became a junior and I'm majoring in EE as well. I wouldn't suggest keeping a certain EE job in mind since you're just starting out. You really won't find what you like until you actually start taking the classes and doing some co-op/internships (if your school has a program like that).
- Q: I am doing a project on electronic baton.I want it to look exactly like baton used by professional orchestra conductor.I stored the electronic components inside the handle of the baton.The problem is the space is very limited.The maximum diameter of the handle only about 18 mm.I need to choose a battery that also stored inside the handle.I want the battery that could work for long time.However what I can see the coin battery that is small only have small energy in it.It will only last for less than 1 hour.It is not good for new product.What can I do to maximize amount of energy so baton can work for longer time? ideally 10+hours or minimum of 5 hours and can fit inside small handle.I dont want to use external power cable.Hope you guys can help me.Really appreciated all of your helps.
