- Q: I am wondering which tile will be easier to clean, polished or non polished? My hub and I are remodeling the bathroom and we are in the stage of deciding of tiles for the shower wall and bathroom floor.
- Polished tile is easier to clean, but does show scuff marks more. Polished tile also shows soap film more. Unpolished tile is currently more in style, but styles change so fast that polished tile could be back in vogue within 10 years. Personally, I prefer polished tile in a bathroom, myself. The grout is a pain in the anatomy to keep clean, regardless...so, it hardly matters which tile cleans easier. Just go for whichever tile you like best. -
- Q: Moved into a house where prior owner used glazed porcelain tile. Job unfinished but a little tile left behind. Not enough! Can anyone help me find GEO CERAMICHE Natura Sable BL 12x12 (or larger, I can cut it down). Have looked online to no avail (yet). Neighbors tell me the tile was bought at least 4 years ago but not later. Can anyone help me find 5 pieces of this tile?
- Find where the tile was bought 1st.. Many big box stores will private label name brand tiles ( and many products) so you can t cross shop them..After 4 years I won t give you much of a chance to find them ..sorry... Styles change along w/ technology and they switch things to change w/ the times. It may be still available but chances are slim..Is it in a place that some sort of mosaic can be used as a decoration? Or maybe a good rug? Start w/ the big box stores but don t waste to much gas chances are slim .. I wish you luck ..
- Q: Jinjiang tiles wholesale market where?
- In addition to the above three major markets, there are under the road building materials market, magnetic new road building materials market, before the shop building materials market. Under the road building materials market to Fujian glazed tile-based, Guangdong wall, sanitary ware second-line brand, supplemented by mass consumption for the mainstream. The area near the stove also has ceramic market, such as Quanzhou Yungu boutique ceramic city, positioning high-grade, an area of ??20,000 square meters; Shi Lizhi Road, there are many ceramic dealers, Nanan stone street, Jinjiang City Quanan Road , SM Square are scattered distribution of some ceramic dealers.
- Q: I want to replace the existing ugly linoleum/vinyl floor in my bathroom with tile. With the right information and tools, I don‘t see why I can‘t do it myself. Any ideas on the pros and cons of different types of tile? What‘s least likely to get scratched, and what is least likely crack and need to be replaced? Which is easiest to clean, etc.? I‘m not crazy about a rough feel or look to the tile. So, I‘m thinking of glazed ceramic or polished stone. Also, my bathroom is very small. I wouldn‘t need to use more than 35-40 square feet of tile. Do you think 12x12 size tiles would look too big? Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated!
- Any tile can go into a bathroom and on the floor, just pick what you like the best. I wouldn't recommend anything really slick, such as a shiny marble or granite, or a shiny glazed ceramic. If installed properly, none should crack, regardless of type, unless something unforseen happens, such as a slab crack. 12x12 tiles wouldn't be too big for a small bathroom. Go bigger if you'd like. 16x16, or 18x18 even. The bigger the tile, the bigger the bathroon looks (it's an illusion) and also, the less grout joints to clean. Try your local tile distributor for the purchase of your tile before you go to Home Depot or Lowes, as they have a better quality of tile and they aren't really expensive like people think. Sometimes you can find good deals through the distributors on a discontinued tile or a sale. Make sure you get extra tiles in case one breaks or cracks in the future, especially important if you purchase a discontinued tile. Good luck!
- Q: I was looking at the glazed tiles at Lowes, they‘re so nice looking, and they‘ve got so many colors.I‘m looking to tile my living room floor...I‘ve read glazed isn‘t good for floors, it‘s more for walls and counter tops. Can anyone tell me about this? I don‘t have any experience with tiles, what is the norm, the standard for floor tiles?
- Unglazed Ceramic Tile Lowes
- Q: Has anyone ever used the spray glaze you can use to paint ceramic tile? I have some ugly green tile on the walls in my bathroom, and I don‘t want to get into busting it out. I saw it used on HGTV, but I want to know if any REAL people have used it? If so, was it expensive? Easy to use? Did it run? I will take any other ideas anyone has for an inexpensive way to do something with this horrible green!
- I have never seen a really successful do it your self reglazing job. It looks ok when it is first applied but will not hold up to normal use. it scratches or peels. also for tile it does not look natural because the grout gets painted as well as the tile
- Q: laying sheet laminate over existing ceramic tile on kitchen counter
- The best answer, of course, is to pull the tile. If you want, however, you can go right over the top by gluing a sheet of 1/8 or 1/4 sheet product (lauan or cheap paneling) over the tile using mastic. Making sure it is level and solid, you can then apply laminate directly over the top. I've done it on two remodels on rental properties and it worked just fine.
- Q: Ok.. what i mean is this. Let‘s say you have hard tile beside the toliet and water damaged occured. Once you press down on the tile you can actually feel the weakness in the tile.. Does this automatically determine bad subflooring or is it possible just bad tile, Can I just killz over the subflooring repaint and lay new tile?
- Justin, tile is rigid and doesn't flex. If you can feel it move, what's under it ain't gettin' it. Sure, the subfloor is suspect, but it may also be missing proper tile underlayment, like concrete board on top of the basic underlayment. If the tile was just installed directly onto a wood subfloor, big fail. Properly installed, it should feel like it's on a concrete slab.
- Q: I just remodeled a home and I am having a hard time cleaning the newly istalled tile. I mop and mop but the tile still looks dirty. I guess its all the powder and sand that was created by the remodeling. Am I supposed to use some type of acid or buffer?
- Never use any strong acid on tiles.Instead try vinegar.Mix 1tbl spoon of vinegar with 1cup of water.Apply it on your tiles let it get dry. Then scrub wash with detergent water.May be it will take some time repetation of the effort but you will get the result .
- Q: What is the difference between tiles and ceramic tiles?
- Tiles and tiles are different in water absorption. Water absorption of less than 0.5% for the tile, more than 10% for the ceramic tiles, between the two for the semi-porcelain. Common tiles, glazed tiles, most sanitary ware is porcelain, water absorption ≤ 0.5%; antique tiles, small tiles (to climb the wall), crystal tiles, wear-resistant tiles, matt brick is stoneware Quality brick, that is, semi-ceramic tile, water absorption of 0.5% ceramic, ceramic tube, decorative tile, glass products are generally ceramic, water absorption> 10%.
