How old is to young to put your baby in a toddle bed?: I am sure some people out there has done it, but I would say 2 months is too small/ young for a toddler bed. My son is 16 months, and he is in one. He fell out the other day.......... even with railings......... and has a big bump on his head. I cannot imagine an infant. You want avoid anything with cedar or wood chips. But the ones filled with foam with washable cotton covers should be OK. Is it possible his bed was washed with a soap that is triggering the reaction? Just a thought.

The next alternative is sharing a queen size bed.: Human beings have shared beds since before we had beds, you know. You don't think we all huddled freezing and alone in separate parts of our caves, right? In fact, separate beds for families are a very new invention. Siblings sharing a bed will have no bed effects on the children, all other things being equal. It will provide security and comradarie. We did it for a few years, and it was very nice. As I look around at adults, most of whom did grow up with cribs and forced night time aloneness, and I see lots of sleeping pill use and bed hopping and the 'i don't like to sleep alone' song running through everyone's minds... Meet kids' needs when they're young and they will actually become independent when they are older. Force them to act independent before they are ready, and you get a lifetime of insecurity, and, well, acting.

Q: I need somewhere to order big amounts of cheap guinea pig bedding. I tried using fleece,towels,newspaper etc but they just continue to smell and are a pain. Q: What are some types of bedding, what is the cheapest way ??: There are many kinds of bedding that can be used for guinea pigs, but some are better than others. NEVER use pine or cedar shavings- compounds released from these shavings can be toxic. However, aspen shavings are fine to use and are more inexpensive than other types of small animal bedding. Corn cob bedding is absorbant and relatively inexpensive, but can be a little dusty. Yesterday's News, a product made from recycled newspaper, is absorbant and easy to find, but a little more pricey. My personal favorite is CareFresh, made from wood pulp fiber. It's not great looking, but it is lightweight, dust free, has no inks or dyes, and doesn't disintegrate when wet.
