You can put vasoline on the metal table legs to keep them from climbing up. Move your bed away from the wall and keep your sheets and blankets from touching the floor. Do you have a wood bed frame, they could be in there or already in your mattress or boxspring. A solution, call an exterminator to get rid of the bed bugs. Sprays alone will not eliminate them, they will have to use steam. If they have a bed bug dog take advantage of it because the dog will point out the source. Good luck!

That way if you want to have someone spend the night there is some room. A twin XL is just longer I think. At your height you can go with any bed. But I would definately not cut yourself down to a twin, I did that before (not by choice) and it was horrible. There is no room to spread out!
