Q: so i want a nose piercing but they aren't allowed at school so id have to wear a retainer. could i get it pierced with this?
Very very serious schizophrenia? Moderate schizophrenia would only result in aural hallucinations, visual hallucinations are exceptionally rare without provocation by a drug.
Q: please list source
Most sandstones are actually quite abundant with quartz by composition. You're probably thinking of quartzite, which is quartz sandstones which have been metamorphosed by the pressure and heat of deep burial.
Q: Which way do you use your Rose Quartz Crystal were relationships and friendships are concerned?
a short answer 1. sandstones are not 100% quartz and the impurities can get removed in the metamorphic process 2. quartz undergoes a strange process called pressure solution whereby under stress the grain contacts dissolve against each other and re-fuze making almost like a weld between the individual grains. This can be seen under thin section
Q: How to measure the oscillation frequency of quartz crystals ? Are quartz crystals just sitting there and oscillating or what ? And how to measure that ? Thanks
1) No; although it is possible to extract silicon from quartz, it will never be economic. An ore is a mineral from which one or more metals can be extracted economically. 2) color of quartz is due to impurities and hence any colour is possible. But pure quartz is colorless. 3) Being very hard, it is often use as abrasive, in making sand paper etc., or even to cut glass. Quartz is piezoelectric (it can generate electricity if pressure is applied at one end of the crystal) and this property if used in different electronic gadgets. It is also the primary constituent of silica sand, which is used to make glass.
Q: A. ONE-FOURTH OF A GALLONB. TYPE OF WATCHC. SILICON DIOXIDE D. PART OF A DIAMOND E. VERY VALUABLE
Ah yes, me and Quartz have been good friends for some time. I know he can cheer you up when your down, but i wouldn't be keeping him in your room or anything, I mean he's usually pretty cool. I don't completely trust him is all.
Q: I found this awesome rock full of quartz but it is also half limestone.
To answer this you need to understand the nature of magma sources and whoever gave you the questions needs to be more technically accurate as the issue is silica content not quartz content. AND you need to understand what Bowen's Reaction Series tells us to expect within magmas. 1. mantle infilling at the mid oceanic ridge as an example. highly mafic mantle material such as Olivine-- low in silica( SiO2 or SiO3 or SiO4). Grain size is governed by cooling rates not content so this answer is fine-ground mass owing to rapid cooling. fine-grained low silica 2. partial melting suggest low temperature and as silica/quartz has the lowest temperature of the silicates in Bowen's reaction series this answer is quartz. partial melting also suggest lower heat content leading to faster cooling and produces a finegrained ground mass bubt instead of mafic lava it is felsic and in the category of ryolite basalt. High silica grainsize could be large pwing to prior crystallization See for example Orbicular Granite 3. quartz but because a differentiated magma has already lost the bulk of early crystallizing minerals of Bowen's series (the higher temperature of solidus ones) such that mainly quartz is left for the remix. this magma is said to be enriched in silica and is very viscous (thick) creating rather vicious volcanic eruptions. silica=viscous=vicious is the mnemonic Assimilation is incorporation of the country rock as it ascends and that is usually but not always higher in silica this situation also suggests substantial chilling leading to fine-grained mass. TO reiterate: grain size related to cooling rates.
Q: IF WE USE BAL SINGLE PART FLEXIBLE GREY ADHESIVE ON BEIGE QUARTZ TILES MIRROR FLECK WILL THE ADHESIVE BE OK?
First soak the mix in a lot of water, clay will be solved and become mud, quartz will remain hard. After that, sieve the mud. It will work unless the quartz is ground to dust before mixing.
Q: Why does quartz have ploymorphs? What is a polymorph?
a. Your instructor is probably looking for beach as an answer. I am unsure of what clear means unless the quartz grains are like glass clear. But, beach sands can be very smooth and rounded as they have been tumbled on the beach for years. b. Pitted (frosted) grains are normally attributed to dune sands. However, many dune sands are not pitted. c. In order to get a sand grain scratched, it must be held in place and other grains are drawn across it. This is most likely created at the base of glacial ice as it scours rocks and sediments on its way down a mountain valley.
Q: I have a ring that has a stone in it that I think is either quartz or topaz that I want to sell on e-bay. I want to make sure that I describe it right so I don't give wrong information.Thank you for any info!
The basics are these, but a crystal can be programmed for what you need. Clear quartz can do just about anything you need. Blue: assuages fear calms the mind Golden: spiritual communication over long distance Green: opens/stabilizes heart chakra Harlequin: links the base and heart chakras to the crown Lithium: antidepressant Natural: universal love, draws off negativity helps healing the body Tangerine: Post traumatic stress Aqua: immune system Rose: love of self and others Rutilated: cleans/energizes aura Smoky: negative emotions Tourmalinated: negative thoughts turn into positive ones.
Q: Does quartz have a higher or lower melting temperature relative to the other silicate rock forming menerals? Can you explain?
