- Q: I want to dye a clear quartz crystal a bright green. Like Kryptonite.Should I just get some Stained glass paint, or what?
- if they are anything like the glass spirals i have if you want to break them then you will have to try, i have 4 glass jewelry dropped them several times and not even a scratch, if the glass was easily breakable then it shouldn't be meant for ear wear because the company that made the product can get in a lot of trouble if it breaks in the customer's ears
- Q: Can Corundum scratch the surface of a quartz crystal?
- Quartz. Strip will curve towards steel side
- Q: What's a better brand of watches - Citizen, Fossil, or Quartz?
- Sherry, Nothing that we know about crystals negates this as a possibility, but there is currently no evidence that supports the idea. Quartz crystals exhibit a property called piezoelectricity, which means that the crystals vibrate at a particular frequency when a voltage is applied across them. In fact, this is how your watch works. But this type of energy generation is very different from what you're talking about, and no evidence for it has been found.
- Q: To grind quartz to power, who can recommend me some grinding machine? Many Tks?
- In a piezoelectric crystal, the positive and negative electrical charges are separated, but symmetrically distributed, so that the crystal overall is electrically neutral. Each of these sites forms an electric dipole and dipoles near each other tend to be aligned in regions called Weiss domains. The domains are usually randomly oriented, but can be aligned during poling (not the same as magnetic poling), a process by which a strong electric field is applied across the material, usually at elevated temperatures. When a mechanical stress is applied, this symmetry is disturbed, and the charge asymmetry generates a voltage across the material. For example, a 1 cm cube of quartz with 500 lbf (2 kN) of correctly applied force upon it, can produce a voltage of 12,500 V. Piezoelectric materials also show the opposite effect, called converse piezoelectricity, where the application of an electrical field creates mechanical deformation in the crystal.
- Q: I have a chunk of crystal quartz the size of my face, i've got rose quartz the size of a toe and a pink quartz same size. What can i use them for?
- It is very possible. As long as there are no fractures or cracks. As pointed out on the previous answer, it would be fairly fragile though. I have seen rings made before in all different sizes, from ones for your fingers to ones that serve as napkin holders and even larger. To make one, you could slab the quartz, then cut those slabs into smaller squares (depending on the size of ring you want to make), cut off the sharp corners to make more of a circular shape, drill out the center, then grind down the corners into a circle and smooth the inside. Or you can get a bit to cut out a circle from the slab, drill the middle and repeat the same smoothing as in the first method. If you want to try it on your own, you'd need few pieces of equipment, which if you don't have already (rock saw, diamond drill bits, polishing wheel etc) would be kind of expensive and you'd probably be better off having someone else do it. If you want someone else to do it, contact a local rock shop or mineral club. Mineral/Rock and or Rockhounding clubs usually have the equipment. There even may be a lapidary club (rock cutting/polishing etc) near-by too, however they are usually part of the general rock clubs. If you found someone to do it, it shouldn't cost a ton, as it isn't really that difficult, just takes time (more so because quartz is so hard). cheers!
- Q: Okay I know most people get diamond, ruby or saphire engagement rings, But the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with loves Rose Quartz and I want to make the ring special. I'm not going to propose for awhile since I'm only 19 and don't have a steady job yet, but for future on I want to know of some places I could possibly find a place that would do this for me.
- Gems are just attractive minerals. usually they are looking for hardness, colour, clarity and brilliance. Brilliance is a function of the stone's refraction of light if it is a clear stone. Precious gems are also valued higher if they are rare.
- Q: I bought some pretty unpolished rose quartz that I am currently leaving in salty water overnight. Unfortunately, I am unable to leave it in the moonlight, but Im told that this isnt the end of the world.Id like to use it to heal a kind of unpleasant situation that has occurred between a very good friend and I. It wasnt so much a fight as an expression of feelings and some difficult issues that may have to be faced..I would like to use the rose quartz to give and get some positive, peaceful, loving energy for us both and restore our relationship to how it has always been. Can anyone recommend some kind of meditation where I can use my pretty new rose quartz to do this? Please, no smartalec, skeptical answers. Good energy, please : )

- Q: found a piece of quartz rock?,but it cuts glass. could it be a diamond? what else can I look for to tell the difference?
- Quartz is an abundant mineral in the Earth's continental crust. It is made up of a continuous framework of SiO4 silicon–oxygen tetrahedra, with each oxygen being shared between two tetrahedra, giving an overall formula SiO2. There are many different varieties of quartz, several of which are semi-precious gemstones. Throughout the world, varieties of quartz have been, since antiquity, the most commonly used minerals in the making of jewelry and hardstone carvings.
- Q: Can't find the answer on Google and Ask, I'd be thankful if someone answers as quick as possible! :)
- Quartz is ingenious rock band but if you mean quartz the mineral, you are wrong...
- Q: Ex. Grounding+channeling ect.
- interesting, that it actually changes to a clear white, had never heard of this before. i personally noticed that sometimes my rose quartz becomes shinier than usual and i usually attribute it to my better luck in love life. i thk if it really changes colour, it should be becos of you since u are the one who is wearing it. anw i had heard before that u can place ur rose quartz crystal in saltwater every once in a while to cleanse it
