Q:Are Crane Flies Venomous?
Crane flies are non-venomous and non-biting .It is a common myth that the daddy long-legs would be the most poisonous animal if only it knew how to use its poison, but this is false. There are 300 species in Britain with the commonest being the entirely harmless, if annoying, Tipula Paludosa. They are completely harmless and only live for around three days as adults.
Q:total motor kw-100kw,crane class-m6,the crane should be operated on ups as the conventional electric supply is off , back up time require-30 min.
To account for the inefficiencies, and startup currents, you should have a 200 kW (200 kVA) inverter with peak power of 800 kW. The batteries would have to store and deliver about 150 kW. But lead acid batteries would need to be of a higher capacity to guarantee that power level for 1/2 hour, which calculates to 75 kW-hour. I'd say 100 kW-hour capacity. A large 12 volt battery can store about 100 amp-hours which translates to 1 kW-hour, so you would need 100 of this size batteries connected in series/parallel. I made a lot of guesses, you should get better numbers for the motors, the inverters and batteries for a more accurate calculation. An inverter of the size needed will not be a 12 volt unit, but probably 48 or 96 volts DC. so you need to configure your batteries in series parallel to get that voltage. Altogether, the 100 large batteries make this not a practical solution. There are lots of large cranes in the world, what do they use for backup? And why do you need backup. With no power, the clutches would keep the crane and loads fixed in position, my guess.
Q:i am making a wired crane robot to pick and drop a wooden block of about 5*5*10cm dimension. I would like to know wat r the different possible lifting mechanisms by which i can lift the wooden block.Ideas other than the normal claw shaped lifters
There are different attachments that you can put on the end of your crane to pick up this block. You can make a set of forks (like a forklift) that would slide under the block (block would have to be elevated on a skid). You can pick up this block with a suction cup. You can also pick up the block by clamping the sides of the block by replicating a scissor type mechanism.
Q:what would you wish for?also, when your done making your 1000 cranesm what do you need to do next? to like, make your wish come true??
before you start making the cranes, you should research their history. the story of 1,000 paper cranes is in fact very sad. it originated because a young girl was dying from cancer. she started making paper cranes but died before she made 1,000. i think she made around 600 of them. it all harks back to the bomb the USA dropped on japan, the girls cancer was caused from radiation. the crane, in japan, is a symbol of long-life, but 1,000 cranes to me is a symbol of the bomb the USA dropped on japan. i have in fact made several thousand cranes and had an exhibit of them. the girl started making cranes hoping she would live. she did not. before you make a wish on paper cranes, remember than. japanese culture and mythos is different from USA. it tends to have a bite.
Q:I know that an ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. This summation, or something like it comes up in every search I do for the legend. Is there a full story that goes with the original legend? If so I would very much like to read it. Wikipedia doesn't have it. Also, while Sadako's story is very touching, it is not the one I'm looking for.
We just finished learning about this in school. It goes back really far, but this is what i know of. A long time ago when heroshima, the atom bomb hit, there were only few survivors. one little girl, i dont remeber her name, was told she was going to die. he heard an old legend that if someone were to fold 1000 paper cranes in one year, they would recive a wish that would come true. The littl girl started folding paper cranes so she could wish that she would live and everyone would have world peace. She sadly died before she was able to fold all 1000 cranes, but ever since a paper crane was a symbol of peace. She has a statue in japan and every year they recive thousands of paper cranes made from children around the world that they hang on her statue.
Q:Ty Crane is the star basketball player for st.francis, what is he doing now? Where is he? Why is he not in the NBA?
Ty Crane is actually at Venice Beach in Los Angeles I just saw him, he was selling his mix tapes, we talked then he said he was Ty Crane the actor from Coach Carter. He smiled eveytime he said he was a movie star. Go to Venice beach by the weights and courts and you will see him there!!
Q:I'm not scared of spiders anymore. If I see one than I can kill it easily, but when I see a daddy long legs crane fly, I freak out! Those things are hugeeee. I could never kill one without being freaked out to death. I heard that they don't even bite, but I'm still scared. There's one in my living room and I ran out. So I planned on staying in my room the whole day and just hope it doesn't show up in the bathroom tomorrow morning when I shower! I'm 14 btw?
This is a selective entomophobia. Basically, you don't fear many insects or spiders, but specific ones trigger your anxiety. Your problem is not the bugs or spiders,(they are harmless) but your fear. This is something 'you' nurture by dwelling on this fear when you see one of these particular critters. I'm glad to hear you no longer fear spiders. you will see the same when you overcome your selective fear. You may even come to realize that the spiders and insects you do fear, are totally harmless, and you may reach a point where you can just ignore these. True, the crane fly is totally harmless and do not bite, sting, or inflict any form of hazard to humans. They can be a nuisance buzzing around your face,as they can be persistent. Adolescent years seem to be when phobias are the most prevalent, but also the easiest time to overcome fears. If you can learn to control your fear, rather than let it control you, you will overcome this. you also need to refrain from dwelling on your fear,as this will only make it worse. Last year, one of my favorite pass times was sitting on the porch watching the sunset. a little orb weaver would come from behind the light and spin her fancy web. Often, I would catch a crane fly that was bothering me and toss it into her web.
Q:Do the characters develop a sense of brotherhood. If so will it be temporary or permanent
They absolutely do - as anyone who has ever tried to row a boat with another person can understand. The key here is the correspondent who is described as someone who has developed a distrust for people. He has seen a lot of things and as a reporter, he has kind of trained himself to view them impartially and not become involved. Crane discusses that when he talks about the correspondent seeing the dead soldier in Algiers. However, now his basic survival depends on him becoming involved with people. He has to take orders from the captain. He has to take turns rowing with the oilman. Eventually when the boat becomes too heavy, they take turns holding on from the water. It's basic survival now and the only way it works is by them developing a brotherhood and working as a team. I dont think it will be permenent - the correspondent will go his own way - back to reporting. However I think that he will take with him a new view of people - an empathy which will make him a better correspondent. Pax - C.
Q:Hi I was with a friend and her family and they kept referring to some birds at a lake as cranes. I know for sure that some birds there were Great Blue Herons. When I here crane I think of a bird from Asia or something. Anyway these birds were white and I thought maybe they were egrets or something, and this is in Ohio. I'm not looking to prove anyone wrong, I'd just like to find out about cranes- are there cranes in America and if so could these birds be cranes? Thanks!
There okorder /, rather than Casmerodius!!). Your friend and her family may have always called herons and egrets Cranes - and may also recognise a Sandhill or Whooping Crane as a different species. It doesn't mean they are mistaken, just that they have learnt a different name for the birds.
Q:where do they live, and what do they look like
ive seen blue herons here in maine they are garyish with long legs and beeks they stand very still so they can catch there food with long beeks
