- Well, the basic truth is that cement is primarily special because it's main ingredient is pulverized stone. Stones/Rocks are strong, so cement is the idea of re-purposing stones for more flexible usage. For personal use, it really doesn't matter what type of stone it is, whether it's limestone or just some ordinary rock found in your back-yard. All you need to do in order to make your own cement, is to get a hammer, and crush a bunch of rocks into a fine powder until you can prepare a mix of : 5/10% Hammer-Crushed Rocks 3/10% Sand 2/10% Clay (Optional) - Firewood ashes are a good thing to mix in because it helps make it a bit waterproof. So if you have ashes, then throw in as much as possible. And if you want even more waterproof properties when setting the cement, then instead of using water; mix in 'used car oil' and stir that up.

- well neither actually, but it would be unpleasant and you'd probably still die, being buried to your shoulders in wet sand would have the same effect... each time you exhaled and your chest depressed the cement would take up the space, as it slowly dried the space you were in would become smaller and smaller and by the time it dried the space you were in would be so tight you wouldn't have room for your chest to expand when inhaling and you would suffocate. I guess you could survive if you kept your hands in front of you to keep room open for your chest expansions.
- Q: i need to fill in a crack on our roof which is allowing water to get in to the house, the problem is that erea is always wet. at first i was tolled to use cement. then i read that concrete quot;hardensquot; when wet. so wouldn't that be better to use? its not a big crack so i wont need allot. so how long would it take to quot;dryquot;?

- rubber roof liners work muck better and are cheaper than cement. Cement will give you lots of problems and the rubber last forever. I have one I built over seventeen years ago. The dogs, deer etc use it and it's still as solid as if it were built yesterday. You will need lots of help to place it as it is very heavy. I hope to enjoy mine for many more years. gail
