1. What is the delivery time after we paid the deposit?

- Your answer is 60 tiles (actually about 59 and 1/4 tiles). 1 meter = 100 centimeters = 1,000 mm Area: 6 meters X 1000 = 6,000 mm 2 meters X 1,000 = 2,000 mm 6,000 mm X 2,000 mm = 120,000,000 mm2 Each tile: 450 mm X 450 mm = 202,500 mm2 Number of tiles: 120,000,000 mm2 : 202,500 mm2 = 59.26 tiles or ~59 1/4 tiles. An easier way is to convert the whole thing to meters. That will avoid all the confusing zeros, while the result remains the same (as using inches rather then 1/16 or 1/32. lol).

- You can get tile paint, but I've never seen a good finish with it. It'd be better to change the tiles.
- Q:If you can tile on top do i need to prepare the old tile surface?
- Yes you most definitely can if the tile is down solid and is clean from grease and dirt etc.... You ll need to check exterior doors to make sure they ll open..A special modified thin set is strongly recommended and allow a minimum of 2 days (long if possible) before any foot traffic goes on the tile.This because there is no where for the thin set moisture to go and you don t want to break the bond.. No special prep work is needed aside from thoroughly cleaning the tile and grout. Don t set grout joint over grout joint if you have the same size tile.. - Q:I accidentally tiled over an outlet cover. What can I do to fix this issue with out having to remove all the tile?
- I'm guessing you probably put backer board down and forgot to cut the receptacle hole. If you can figure out which tile it's behind you can strike the tile in the center hard enough to break it and then use a hammer and chisel to chisel out the pieces. The backer board will chisel out easily. If you don't know the exact location you may have to remove more than one. That's OK because the mortar is probably still a little soft.The other option would be to use a 4 grinder and cutting wheel to cut the tile and backer board out with. If all that works out then you'll probably need to replace the outlet with a GFCI outlet if it's near a water source. Good luck
- Q:i‘m having an investigatory project and its all about making tiles out of broken glass and rice hull. help me pls.
- sounds odd, I wouldn't use broken glass in an indoor tile, nor rice hulls on an outdoor tile. you may be able to laminate (make layers of) rice hulls in mortar on lower layers and then embed the glass on the top for traction for an outdoor tile. use a 1 foot square wooden box, lay down a very thin layer of mortar (thickness of a quarter?). then lay down layers of your rice hulls mixed with mortar, then carfully place the glass on top, making sure it is in the mortar enough to be secure. this is more like a terrazzo floor common in south florida and italy Good luck with your homework

It really isnt difficult. Caulking takes a while to dry, so if you have a hard time positioning a tile, you can remove it and replace it until you get it right. Someone at the store can answer any questions. If you would like, I can probably e-mail you detailed instructions that will walk you through it.
- Q:We are in the process of buying a Fannie Mae home which is in very good condition. We did however find a hairline crack on about 6 of the 12 x 12 tiles in the master bathroom floor. The Home Inspector said there are no signs of foundation problems on the outside of the home. He said because we live in Texas the ground settles and expands and this could have caused the crack. - The inspector knows some what what he s talking about. Movement like this can cause tile to crack but in most cases the cracks will run in a fairly straight line. Are the tiles that way? Or are they here and there?If the are more in a random pattern, tiles my be loose , the workmanship was poor and thin set wasn t applied right or thin set was to wet , dry or possibly had skinned over before tile was set. There are easy ways to tell if the tiles are loose to see if thats the problem. The door shouldn t be a problem to fix so I would be more concerned with the tiles.
