- Best way to find out is go to a local yardage store and see the different materials, and feel the difference. Satin is slippery, linen has a rougher feel to it. Ivory can be not as 'white' as white, if that makes sense.

- Cheap? You can actually buy white table clothes from Sam's Club for very inexpensive prices. My local Sam's had 3-packs of 90 round Commercial Tablecloths for $33.88. That's $11.30 per table. Round table clothes are more expensive than rectangular because so much fabric is wasted. In most cases, renting is probably best because they take them away and wash them. However, sometimes you can still buy them cheaper than renting. If that's the case, who cares if you end up with dirty napkins and tableclothes? Whatever saves the most money. You can donate the used ones to a local non-profit, sell or loan them to another bride, or keep them for family. Dove Linens (Maryland) rent polyester 90 round cloths for $7.50. Their Imperial Stripe for $12.40, Damask for $15.00, and Sparkle Crepe for $13.40. It just takes some research to see what is the best deal. I'm not sure there is one generic answer to your question.

- first, wash it in cold water on delicate. you do not want to ruin the color of the sweat shirt. then! put it in the dryer with other like things. i say something that won't leave lint. maybe, sheets. then, dry it on highit will shrink.

- polar fleece is very durable and easily washable . i have also used flannel but it does not hold up as well . i make pet blankets for dogs i dog sit and i take two pieces of polar fleece, stitch on three sides, stuff with a bit of polyester stuffing . stitch end closed . and in the middle i stitch the dogs name . holds the stuffing inside in place and makes for a personalized blanket . since you don't know the names you could use the words dog, cat, bird, whatever types of animals the vet clinic sees . just a suggestion :O) great project .
