- On a real camera crane you would press the up and down button that moves the wrist part of it. ( I drove a forklift). If you are doing to yourself you'll have to rely on the elbow movements. I might think about renting a Genie lift. And letting someone be your hands in the thing. Unless you know how to build a fully articulating hydraulic ball-joint?

With the lift at tipping range all 400t will be distributed along the outer half of the pad or on the extreme legs. Rule of thumb is all the load is placed under the one pad. so one pad is 9 sq metres and the load is 400 tonnes so the bearing capacity must exceeds 400/9 tonnes per square metre. 44.44444t/m^2

- The world would be a little less beautiful. The blue crane's role as a predator in its ecosystem would be left empty, allowing its former prey to breed without check until (hopefully) another predator moves in to pick up the slack. Otherwise the ecosystem will be out of balance.
