You have a shot at working on a big military contract in any engineering discipline. But as a heads up, being a PE can sometimes help with government contracts. So if your goal is to be one of the designers behind the next big tank, helicopter, or aircraft carrier, make sure you have a solid foundation in your math and science courses, and keep your skills current (answering math and physics questions here helps with that).

EEK. DON'T TOUCH THE 220 VOLTS. It sounds like you have a 12 volt powered device. The easiest way to run a 12 dc device off the house 120 v AC and 12 v DC battery is through a battery charger to the batteries and go from there. If you are trying to run a 120v AC device, you will need the UPS mentioned above, but they can be expensive.

1 Yes there is a seperate battery for auxillaries and a seperate battery that runs the electric motor/charger. 2 the alternator that runs the auxillaries is a normal 60 to 90 watt unit. It cannot charge the batteries that drive the car. 3 no differant than addind to a regular car.
