Q: I had my house re roofed last year and the roof leaked into a large utility room. I took the drop ceiling out and took down the ceiling panels above it and now I have to replace the insulation and put a ceiling back in. Its a very high celing unless I replace the drop ceiling panels here. Any suggestions? What kind of insulation should I use? I noticed some of the insulation has different numbers and some of it is very expensive so how do I know what to use?
go to lowe's or home depot, someone there will help you with ur problem at no cost. ps. ask for johns manville insulation, it is the best.
Q: Gypsum board plus alkali-free glass fiber benefits
Refractory paper gypsum board: its core to increase the refractory material and a large number of glass fiber, if cut gypsum board, you can see from the cross section of a lot of glass fiber. Good quality refractory plaster board will choose a good refractory performance of alkali-free glass, the general products are selected in the alkali or high alkali glass
Q: I have a large attic with sloped ceiling which are covered with rolls of fiberglass insulation. I use my attic for storage and am up there frequently, and for long periods of time. I would like ideas on what material could be used to cover the exposed insulation, so that I'm not breathing in the fiberglass.Cost and easy installation is a factor. I do not want to put up drywall or any type of regular ceiling, because if there's ever a leak, I want to be able to access it easily. Some sort of lightweight material that comes in a roll that I would be able to install with a staple gun would be great - but not plastic, because I don't want to worry about condensation and mold building up in the hot summertime. All ideas are welcome, and if you know the price of the material you're suggesting, please include it in your answer. Thanks everybody!
Lots of great answers already for this
Q: My neighbor told me that there is no attic space in the main bedroom. It is a 2 story house, but the master bedroom is the ONLY room that is significantly hotter than the other 2 rooms. Is it possible to put some sort of insulation over the existing ceiling and then drywall over it? Or....??????
In answer to your question, yes, you could use one of the sheet insulations such as rigid fiberglass or expanded polyurethane, but as one poster said it would likely be less expense and hassle if you just took the existing ceiling down and insulated with bats or spray foam.
Q: What are the textile mill floor materials?
Please do the epoxy resin is good, the price is relatively high, because we designated the Secretary Deng card, before always do bad, the results of the people of Hong Kong, really useful, the construction is not Secretary Dengde, a technician To guide over.
Q: I had the roof replaced last summer, but havent had the energy to get up there and take down the ceiling tiles and the fiberglass insulation. I started removing it a section at a time a week ago, and wow! What a mess!. Gravel is falling down on my head and the insulation and tiles are dry now, but its still hard to pull them out. Should I be wearing a mask? Is there anything in the old dried out insulation and ceiling tiles that I should cover my nose? Its making a really big mess, so any suggestions will be helpful.
A mask would be good. No telling what old insulation is made of. Get some large heavy plastic sheets. Place in rooms where your are taking down tile. Will help a lot on the cleanup. Makes real big trashbags. You may have to dump before it gets too heavy.
Q: What method of repair and what is the material used.
If you re-do the ceiling may be time-consuming solution: with putty approved twice or so to fill the cracks on the line and then brush on the bottom of a brush on the bottom into a new one.
Q: When I moved into my house the ceiling was cracked from the ceiling fan out to the walls in two directions. I don't want to put new wall board up and repairing the crack is not possible according to my Husband. What are some ways to cover the ceiling up?
What you have to do is scape about 12 inches on each side of the crack. Tape and float with drywall tape and joint compound. If you have popcorn (acoustic) texture, that's better. Popcorn texture covers up all the imperfections you might leave. Once finished floating just shoot your texture. Since you probably don't have the tools. It's really not that expensive to do. Maybe$150 to $225. depending on the area your in and the size of the cracks. I recommend you get a drywall guy to come to your house and fix it, Try to get somebody to do it on a side job and not a company. Good luck. Jorge Flores Professional Painting and Remodeling co.
