- Q: on this link.. uld someone please tell me what color glass tile is on the first and the second photos of the bathrooms?the top bathroom looks more like a pink base and the second bathroom has the dark gray tiles and the purple walls. also, what kind of walls are these? it looks different than just regular paint. i need a link to the tiles that both of these bathrooms have. i think the first one is more of a pink base and the second is more of a silver base.
- 3d glass mosaic tiles.. The lighting is crucial for these tiles to shine appropriately.. I'm guessing that it'll be about $100-$200 per sheet for these type of tiles ! Lowes has some pillow tiles that give off that type of light for $195 a sheet.. The walls might be some sort of painting effect.. Like dry brushing .. Very pretty intersting but, could be REALLY expensive to try and pull off... If you like the look try a simple solutions pick a few things to mimic/faux spend some money on the WOW factor... - your better off ripping the old tile off, if you rip the bottom of the sheetrock off you should cover it with trim besides trim will make the tiles stand out more

- Q: i have these ugly light blue ceramic tiles in my kitchen (as a backsplash)..they are fairly big squares ... and the owner before me tried to paint the grout between them because the paint (or whatever it was) is coming off so now the grout is gross dark grey coming through...anyways...i was wondering if anyone had some easy ideas to cover up the ceramic tiles.
- They have a thin piece of granite that can be installed over the top of an existing counter top, but those are designed primarily for resurfacing a regular laminate counter top. I'm not real sure it would work on a counter top that is ceramic tiles. You'd have nearly the same type of look you have now. I believe they stock these granite counter tops at some of the big box stores like Lowe's. To change the look to a regular laminate counter top, you'd likely be further ahead to have the old counter top removed and a new top installed like you want. Some contractors may be able to save the old counter top so you could sell it if it could be made to fit somewhere.

- Yes, you can tile over your existing tops. Consider, though, that if your landlord doesn't like it, he can charge you your security deposit for removal. Taking tile off of counters is an expensive, messy process, so you might want to get the OK first. Good luck w/your project.

- FINDING OLD TILES ARE LIKE FINDING OLD CAR PARTS slim and none,but don.t dis pair remove one of the old broken or not and take it to local tile only store home depot probably will be of little help as they know their currant supply and only supplier.if all else fails find a complementary style and size and create a new pattern removing the broken and possibly a few not so broken create a new design or bite the bullet.careful in the removal of tiles near tile you want to keep remove grout surrounding the tile you want to remove before you break it out the grout will transfer the impact of a hammer to surrounding tiles breaking more than you want

- Preping the floor for tiling can involve multiple things: First tile cannot be layed on any kind of surface It has to be dry and very solid without any movements or the tile or the grout will crack after some time, so it might involve some extra screws on a plywood floor removing cushion floor etc. If the floor is uneven or not level this has to be fixed before laying the tile also, this may include pouring some self leveling concrete to level the floor. The floor surface has to be completely clean before laying the tile, so brooming, removing baseboards etc. He may also chalk some lines as reference points before laying the tile. Hope this helps
- Q: The 12 by 12 tiles were laid 7 years ago and nothing is different, but last October some of them over by the exterior wall of the house started tenting. There had been no more or less rain. What would make them do this?Here‘s some more info:-They started cracking in the part of the house that was added on.-The new foundation may not have been sealed.-My brother put them down and he tends to do a crappy job at best. He thinks they were cheap tiles.-I found traces of termites when I started pulling them up (seems unrelated since they‘re ceramic tiles, but one never knows...)Any advice on replacing them would be greatly appreciated!
- When installing floor tiles you have to have the right surface under them. You would need either a self leveling cement surface applied or cement board installed first before the tile is installed. If this wasn't done first the floor below the tiles will absorb moisture and expand and contract from the different humidity levels causing the tiles to break loose.
