- Q: I‘m looking to buy black and off white tiles for my kitchen walls and just wondering does anyone know where is cheapest?? and which tiles are best??? please help its my first time doing up a house and iv no idea which ones to get or where to buy them.. and we‘re on a very tight budget:( thank you:)
- Cream and black is present the two very impartial. almost any coloration might artwork. the place you reside would dictate what's appropropriate. once you're in a southern territory you could choose a superb cooling pastel. while you're in a northern section a wealthy deep heat coloration could be solid. think of roughly what hues you like. carry the swatch at palms length and visualize it on the wall. this might help you with the final result. stay remote from greys and browns. deliver a 2d accessory coloration into the room with some selection desktops. a colourful vase, pot rack, or possibly a kitchenaid equipment can stand out as an accessory coloration. have relaxing and make constructive in spite of coloration you choose it particularly is what you sense delicate with (you would be the single residing in it). one extra situation- phychologically vegetables cut back urge for foodstuff and oranges advance. - Q: Thinking of putting tile on front porch. It has a couple minor cracks. Is there anything that I can put down so that the Tiledoesn‘t crack in the future.
- You definately need to fix the cracks or fill them. If you put tile over them then the tile will just crack in time. Using concrete quik set to fill the cracks, then a fine layer of thinset to level should do the job.
- Q: The tile at the store says $5.00 per square foot.. so I'm assuming that's the cost of the tile only.. and then how much does it generally cost to install? Another $5 or more per square foot? I am new to this all.
- what the tile store quoted you is the price of the material only. depending on the area of the country you live in, tile installation prices vary. labor prices can range from $2-$10 a square foot depending on the size of the tiles, any pattern you may choose (brick pattern, diagonaly, etc), the type of material you choose (i charge upwards of $15 per foot for glass tiles. i know you are talking floor tiles, and i know you didn't pick a glass tile, but i've seen it done, and believe me, it's well worth $15 a foot!). moving furniture can incur an additional charge; save this money by clearing the room yourself. any floor prep can be additional. if your floor is off-grade (as in not a concrete slab, or you are referring to an upstairs room) then an installer will charge additional for the cost and installation of an underlayement, which is required for tile if installed over plywood. talk with anyone you know who has had ceramic tile installed recently and see who they might recommend. the tile store might offer recommendations as well. get about 3 before you commit to an installer. to giver you a general idea on prices--if you choose a 16 inch tile to be installed over concrete on a straight pattern (square tiles, not diagonal or diamond pattern), you're looking to pay about $3-5 labor per square foot. good luck!
- Q: My friend‘s bathroom floor is light-colored marble tile. His new navy blue shower mat bled navy dye and stained the tile. It‘s pretty soaked into the tile and won‘t wipe off. Is it a lost cause to try to remove it, or does anyone have any ideas to get the stain out? Thanks a lot!

- Q: Is it good to use a white cement?
- When using tiles, it is recommended to use a creping agent, which is superior to white cement caulking from firmness and beauty. Tile Cracking agent, also known as brick trenching agent, the material is from the cement, quartz sand, filled with pigments with a variety of additives made by mechanical mixing evenly. Its characteristics: 1, strong adhesion and toughness, can absorb the base surface and the continuous vibration of the brick and the collection, to prevent cracks. 2, with a hydrophobic function, to prevent moisture from the tile seam to prevent moisture and eliminate the phenomenon of anti-pulp tears. 3, non-toxic, tasteless, non-polluting, anti-mildew antibacterial, to ensure that the face is constant often new. 4, colorful, to meet the requirements of different decorative effects. (Color can be deployed on demand side)
- Q: Does anyone know if I can lay ciramic tile over the dull worn out linoleum floor in my kitchen? I don‘t want to peel up the linolium because of the insane amount of labor it will take, and make the sub floor un even. any suggestions? Will tiles still stick to this material? Thanks!
- I've laid tile over some things that some people would not recommend and it worked fine, but I don't think I would do it over linoleum. However, if you do try it, I wouldn't buy anything too expensive, tile wise. You'll want to scuff the linoleum up really well, make sure it is 100% clean, and use the best thinset you can find.
- Q: hello, this is my first tile and grout job, tiling is done now for grout. bought premixed grout, rubber float, sponge, started grouting last night, put grout on the float and applied to the tile. pushed it into the space between tiles, but it seems like alot fell off in the tub (its in the spaces between tiles) but is this normal for the grout to fall off the wall (i guess it would be considered excess?) but is that normal no sure how applying grout is suppose to look? i know i need to let it sit for 24hrs then do clean up then seal it when done. plz let me know if that grout falling in tub is normal or am i doing something wrong? ( grout is in the grout line though) just looks like alot is falling, or am i useing to much at one time? don‘t know? thx again for any info. mike
- bathing room tiles are farley low-cost and easy to position in. i'd not paint them, that seems truly tacky to me. i'd propose in basic terms replacing all of them. no matter if that's the bathtub encompass area you're talking about my company replaces all of that for $650 such because the hardi board behind the tile. that is truly major once you've had some lacking tiles or cracked tiles because moisture receives behind there and motives mould. when you're talking about portray floor tile i'd also propose in basic terms replacing all of it. Tiling isn't that puzzling extraordinarily in a rest room considering that its so small. i'd say splurge slightly and get new tile. it is going to a great deal improve the look of your bathing room. And dont be afraid to flow with tiles in sizes along with 13x13 on walls and 20x20 on flooring. It truly makes the realm look larger.
- Q: For example, in the store will see the cloud of stone bricks, microcrystalline stone bricks and other labels, how is this classification of it? What are the different types of their performance? Humbly ask for advice, thank you!
- According to the material can be divided into: glazed tiles, whole body bricks, polished tiles, tiles and so on.
- Q: I am in the process of installing a slate floor in my mudroom. The durock has been laid, and the tiles cut and sealed, and I‘m ready to start using the medium set to secure the tiles in place, but as I‘ve never laid slate (or any tile) before, I have some questions. 1. The tiles are in place now how I want them, do I have to take up the tiles row by row before I start mortaring them in place, or can I do 1 or 2 tiles at a time?2. I laid the tiles out starting from the center and working outwards. When I lay the tiles in place do I again start at the center, or do I start from the edges, or doesn‘t it matter?3. What is the best way to prevent lippage? As this is slate there is a good amount of variation. Do I just back butter each tile so that it is as high as the highest tile in the room? How do I manage to do that properly?
- Others might disagree, but here's what I suggest: 1. I take up at least a few rows of tile at a time, carefully stacking them in order. 2. Layout should always be done using a center line. There are options for the installation: - If you carefully snap or draw lines for each row on the Durorock and do not use spacers you can start wherever you want, for example against a far wall so that you don't work your way into a corner. - If you only use a center line and rely upon spacers, then you need to start at the center. Tiles tend to drift from each other slightly when you install using spacers, so if you start in the center and work in both directions the net drift toward the edge will be half as much as it would if you work from one edge all the way to the other. - I always draw lines for each row when I do a diagonal installation. I install the longest row first and the work away from it toward the opposite corners. 3. Once I mix a batch of thinset, I don't want to fuss much with tile thickness. So before I even lay the slate tiles out on the floor I sort them from thickest to thinnest. Individual tiles often vary in thickness from one corner to the other; others might have consistent thickness but be dished (not flat). These tiles are candidates to be cut for edge pieces, or they might not be worth using at all. Anyway, I layout the tiles from thickest on one side of the room to thinnest on the other and only need to butter a thin corner of that occasional irregular tile that is pretty enough to be worth the hassle. 4. See my answer to 2.
- Q: I have a kitchen that currently has 20X20 tile The kitchen has 40 tilesWhat is the square feet of the kitchen?
- 514.75 Inches is how many square feet
