Q:Is it best to pull the shower curtain completely closed, leaving about six inches between the shower curtain rod and the ceiling for air flow. Or is it better to leave the sides of the shower curtain open a foot or two to better allow for the water vapor to dissipate. The thinking behind closing the shower curtain all the way, is so the water will run down the curtain and down the drain.
I close my shower curtain after I have a shower, that way it dries evenly, if you leave it open then the pleats stay wet. I have had the same vinyl liner for a year and there has been no mold build up on the curtain. =]
Q:I need to hang a curtain rod in my kitchen to be able to hang curtains so that my neighbors will not be able to see inside. If i screw the rod into the wall, will it hols up? there is also wood trim around the window and i tried to drill the screws in it but my drill could not penetrate it. Will it be ok to use the wall?Im asking because i know nothing about this sort of thing.I just dont want the rod to fall out of the wall and leave holes in it.Please advise.
ok you should be able to as most windows have a header youll have to check for sure take hammer lightly tap above window if you hear a hollow sound you'll need to use a plastic ancore if you hear a soild sound go a head drill your holes you should only drill a pilet hole then switch bit and screw the rest in tight (pilet) use a bit smaller than you screw) only enough to start your screw straight one other thing if your only on sheetrock they sell plastic ancors or maybe they came with the rods drill holes just enough to fit upto half the length of the ancor then tap it in lightly

If you want to lighten up the room go with white or soft tan. To darken use navy with the sky blue and Forrest green or Burgundy with the green

Off White, not too white should be okay for the curtains. I would add appliances that are grey might work with a red and black kitchen, providing it's okay with your boyfriend. Red and black are bold colors but it can be toned down with off white and grey. Good Luck

Well, it will all depend on how you do it... I have seen some good wall curtains and some pretty bad ones! But if you find a thick, heavy fabric you like, and buy a staple gun, I think you could cover that wall quite easily without having to 'drape' the fabric and with minimum damage to the wood... just stretch it like a canvas. Draped fabric on an entire wall can get really busy; plus, it will collect dust like you have never seen before.
Q:Hey, Im a 16 year old boy, and ive recently had my room painted a vibrant orange colour. I have a lot of ethnic african artifacts etc, like masks and things on the walls. It looks really nice, although i used to have a blue room, so my carpet and curtains are dark blue.( Not as dark as navy, but quite dark). they look alright, but its so plain, i have plain walls and plain curtains, so i was thinking maybe a chocolate brown or cream colour curtains? White would look bright and would contrast with the blue and orange so yes i would go for white or cream or a Coffee colour but if it was me id go for white:)
