See if you can obtain some stainless steel shafting of 316 quality that won't rust as it's normally used for yacht fittings and the likes. If you go to a scrap metal yard see what's available in their pile of scrap you just mit come across enough stainless steel to construct your fence or go to a stainless steel manufacturer that works with Stainless steel you just may find in all their off cuts just what your seeking. Another idea is to approach a milking machine installer as often they have off cuts of stainless steel tubing this would be ideal for your fence if you like you can fill it with concrete if you so wish! There are some low pressure non hazardous applications where stubins can be used but they do not always save any money in terms of total installed costs. If you always use fittings then you do not have to stop and do the calculations necessary to assure that the stubin connection meets the code(s). In very large piping at low pressure, with normal temperatures and low mechanical stresses, stubins can be economical but they must be used with caution if the fluid is potentially toxic or flammable. When I talk about fittings, that includes weldolets, threadolet and similar forged branch connections. In the case of large pipe manifolds designed for very high pressure with multiple connections, the use of custom made forgings can save costs.
