Q: I bought two new pairs of dress-pants.Upon ironing them the iron sticks to them and I almost damagedthe pants.I’ve managed to get around the sticking while ironing part but the problem is that the iron immediately picks up something sticky from the pants and the iron immediately becomes grimy.I just wish to iron these pants without this grime problem occurring every time. What is the solution?: The iron is too hot. It's melting the fabric. That happens with synthetic fabrics. If you aren't using steam, then do that. It can help, but mostly what you need to do is use a lower temperature. A pressing cloth is a good idea, because then you can use a higher temperature without damaging the fabric. A pressing cloth is nothing more than a piece of thin cotton. Place it between the iron and the clothes. If there is stuff melted onto your iron, you'll have to clean it or it will stick to anything you iron. You can google how to do that.
