Q: ok, i tiled my kitchen with the sticky tiles (not expensive ceramic ones or anything like that) then sealed it with a clear tube of sealant. it is about 3 or 4 days later, and the floor looks like crap. the sealer left behind a nasty tar trail or something. While the tile looks glossy and beautiful the places i sealed are dull and def noticable. How do I get rid of the excess???? I've tried scraping, it just don't work. help me!!!!: If you are referring to silicone sealant, you can buy silicone remover.

Q: what causes lippage on a granite floor? i had someone install granite tiles in my bedroom and the lippage isn‘t too bad i must say but 2 or 3 tiles do have A LOT of lippage...was wondering why that would be? thanks so much in advance!: They were not set properly. Added thin set some times it needed or the peice that is high may not have been set down into the thin set properly. Some times they are not milled properly and are slightly curved. Several factors , all of which a good installer is aware of should have watched for. . If they are to high call them back and have it fixed. Q: I was using a steam mop and it started getting very hot and tripping the breaker system. electrician told me there was too many amps (?) for the small electrical cord to handle. He said most of the steam mops can be potentialy dangerous for this reason. Q: i want to tile my house, i also want to pay less than a dollar per square foot for the materials. on top of that i want 16 tile... i know these deal exhist but i dont know where to look... please help: I would try a large tile supplier like Dal-Tile or VCT tile. Depending on the size of your project they offer great deals on discontinued tile. I just re-tile 2000SF with 20 x 20 tiles from Dal-Tile and picked it up for $.40 a SF. Since the tile is discontinued be sure to get an extra box or two for future repairs.

Q: can I surface over my white tile flooring granet??: if you are talking about stick on vinyl tiles then yes. Ceramic tiles, no, unless you put something on it to level out all the grout seams. Seems to me it would be easier to get the tile up and start at the bottom. It might also cause your floor level to be higher than in adjoining rooms, never a good look.

Q: Specifically, what type of drill bit is required that won‘t chip the tile.: There isn't a manufacturer on the planet of tile or drill bits that will ever promise total success. Somewhere will be included a disclaimer stating the obvious (Operator at risk) I use tap con bits for small holes; but even then I like to have a box of extra tiles handy. Part of the issue however; is also the SIZE of the hole/opening; you intend.
