Q: We must have had 10 vacuums in the past 5 years. We have been buying bagless upright vacuum cleaners in the $80-$150 range. We run a playgroup from our house so we vacuum alot!! At least 3 times a day. These cheap cleaners just don't last. The loose suction very quickly and eventually just break. So we have decided to invest in a better quality one. Any suggestions of a good quality vacuum cleaner that will last and do a really good job time after time. We don't really care about bag/bagless or upright/canister. We just want something that works well and will last. We are looking in the $400 max price range. So far we have been looking at Dyson, Oreck and Electrolux. Please help!!!!
I own a dyson and it is renowned as one of the best vacuums. My uncle has a kirby, the best vacuums available, but heavy, not packed with features, but will last forever which is what you would be paying over 1000 dollars for. The dyson comes pretty customizeable in many different models. And the fact that the dyson never loses suction which is correct. The only thing with the dyson is that if you have a pet there will get a lot of hair stuck around the rotating brush which is the only cleaning you will ever have to do with it. The receptacle is super easy to take out dump and then put back in with only one hand. Just don't be too rough with your dyson i haven't broken any part of mine but it is only made out of plastic.
Q: Why are vacuum cleaners quiet in the TV adverts?
Because I think it's illegal to put a vacuum that loud on TV, it hurts our ears too much.
Q: No central air or heat, so in winter windows are cracked and in summer windows are screened but opened. I bought the air purifier to help with allergies and after 2 nights it does seem to help, but think I need to go back and get the larger one. This one is for room 10 x 12 and my room is 16 x 13 and is connected to kitchen with no dividing door. Am I fighting a losing battle, or will this unit help pretty bad allergies (I think mostly to dust)? Would love to hear your experiences.P.S. I bought the Holmes brand with Hepa type filter.Thank you.
Air okorder /... (just found this, we didn't record it). I hope this helps.
Q: I am in a market for a new vacuum cleaner. I have selected two models and there are two main differences between them: price and HEPA filtration. One with sealed HEPA costs $200 more than the one using HEPA 12 filtration. We have two dogs and no one in our family suffers from allergies. Would sealed HEPA filtration justify spending $200 more on a vacuum? Thanks.
Well the sealed would keep in more allergens and dust. The non sealed would would suck in allergens but spit them back into the air or at least most of them. I would recommend checking with people you know that you would consider inviting into your house and ask them if they are allergic to dust or allergens. Now i would recommend the shark navigator to you because it costs just under 200 dollars and has anti allergen technology to lock in dust and never loses suction. Now what they say on the commercials are true our family owns one and it is true. i have seen an improvement in my allergies. it also has free shipping and handling.so i would hope this helps.bye
Q: everytime i turn my vacuum cleaner on ,my dog gos nuts starts barking and trys to bite it, ?? why they do that
you have to socialize your dog to it so it wont be scared of it anymore. my chihuahua was easy to socialize because she was still a puppy and chihuahua puppies learn best better than when they are adults. everytime i turned the vacuum on she barked i then i turned it off. i turned it on again and then off then whenever she got used to it i gave her a treat and she was socialized to it!
Q: Should I spend a lot and expect it to last for years, or should I spend a little and expect to replace it next year. What brand and model should I buy. Please help!
We've got a Hooray Henry - great little worker and even has a cheery face! Got him after 2-3 others in recent years who literally bit the dust - Henry was recommended as can cope with more hoovering than a little dust so if you're doing renovations and have clumps of plaster it will suck 'em up and not wear out the motor.
Q: How would you rate the Rainbow vacuum cleaner? Please only responed if you have used it or own one. Thank you.
Works great - maybe the best. BUT...it is a big hassle! I love the ease and thoroughness of a Dyson ball! Easy to empty, you don't pull it around and it is always ready in a moment's notice! The Dyson does a wonderful job with greater ease. The cost is only a fraction of the Rainbow also. barb
Q: what's the difference with this 2 vacuum cleaners
The okorder /... P.S. this is the zoology section, unless you categorise a question yourself, the system decides for you based upon certain words (shark !).
Q: What are the best vacuum cleaners on the market today? I've heard good things about the Dyson, how bout you?
Yes. The Dyson is a good model. So to is the new Electrolux with the no-bag space for dust. Plus the filters that clean themselves. I think this model is a bit cheaper than the Dyson. We have 4 dogs, and our house can get really hairy at moulting time. We have had about 3 Vacuums so far. The Dyson is a bit pricy for us. The best Vacuum we have has been the cheapest. A Sanyo- $120NZ from the warehouse.Has a removable dust bag. That's the problem with many Vacuums. The paper bags are so expensive. But so long as it sucks well, it's a personal choice. Good Luck!
Q: need to find a good vacuum that can clean big areas of carpet, help remove all the nasty things in the air and take away pet hair.. by the way its a house of 9 people 3 dogs and 3 puppys (around 1 month old that are growing really fast)... please help me out here...
