- Q:So I'm going to get a scaffold/industrial piercing, and I had a few questions:-does your ear have to be a special quot;shapequot;? Like I mean does you outer ear cartilage rim have to stick more so it can be pierced?My outer cartilage rim is a little flat but it still sticks up -Would this make my piercing reject?Thanks! :)))
- You can still get the scaffold done, but it might not take to your body well. You also need to be careful of the piercer that you choose. If your piercer places the bar in the wrong place, it can cause keloids or stress bumps. This might also happen if you don't have the right ear. I got an industrial, and my piercer didn't seem to put the bar exactly where I wanted on one end. Although I took very good care of my piercing, and didn't put any stress on it, I still got a keloid on that side of the ear, and it wouldn't go away. A lot of my friends had beautiful industrials, and I couldn't figure out why mine looked the way I did until I did a little more research, and the keloid appeared because my piercer did not pierce my ear in the correct location. I had to remove the piercing for the keloid to disappear. This might happen to those who don't have ears that are fit for an industrial. If you do decide to get it, please don't mess with it (although it's hard not to). When you sleep, try cupping your hand over your ear so that you don't put pressure on the piercing. :-) If you don't know what side you'd like it on, get it on the side that you sleep on the least. You may get a bit of a stress bump around the piercing, but these tend to disappear once the piercing heals up.

- Stop sleeping on it and stop trying to pull it out - you're just going to irritate it doing that. If you feel you need new jewelry, go to your piercer. They can help you out.

- an industrial and a scaffold are the same thing, why would they allow it to one name of it but not the other, and most piercings you have to be 18+ to get, and some you can get at 16, very few you can get any younger than that
- Q:I've had my industrial piercing for a long time now, but I was wondering if I could put two 14g tongue rings in the holes. Would that damage them or make them crooked? Also, could I use two tongue retainers? Thanks.
- should be fine. if its healed. never know what could happen if its not healed. but if you have had it for over a year and a half, you should be fine. because the tongue rings are pretty big, they could get bumped easier. which could lead to them being irritated and also hypertrophic scarring. if you just want the barbell look you can get really short barbells, that would diminish the possibility of all that. you can even get some pretty funky beads for the ends of em. he** you could put hoops in them or watever. oh, just a warning, unless they were pierced at a 14 g. which it would either be that or a 16g. most likely.then they might require a bit of stretching to get that 14gauge through, depending on the gauge it was pierced at. it will probably be kinda sore after that. but that should go away within a week or two. oh yea and if you can use the tongue rings ok, then you should be able to use the retainers :p good luck, hope it turns out gouda <3 :p
