- The best thing to use is sea salt soaks: Add 1/4 of a teaspoon of Sea salt (available in supermarkets) to a mug of kettle boiled water, mix and leave to cool slightly before applying it to the piercing. For this particular piercing it may be best to dip and soak your ear in the cup of solution and leave it there until the water cools. After this rinse away any excess salt, dry carefully, with a cotton bud gently remove any crusty bits and avoid touching it at all, especially with dirty hair/shampoo and conditioner etc. Do this twice a day for a few months after which you can cut down to doing it just once a day and just rinse it with the warm water in the shower.

You should be cleaning it 1-2 times a day with a saline solution, such as H2Ocean, or a salt soak that should last 5-10 minutes. Salt soaks draw out bacteria/infections, so they are highly recommended.
