Maintainance guide:
Make sure that you regulaly clean the wood floors in order to prevent dust accumulation. We recommand to clean a small part
of stains as a testing ground to prevent too much chromatic aberration.
Dust and stain— use a hard brush dipped in warm soapy water to remove it.
Mildew— scrub with ordinary wood mode class agents, or bleach to rinse or wipe it directly.
Chalk stains—In addition to the while chalk, other colors can not be removed, you can use bleaching agent with hot soapy
water to wash it.
Ice or snow—Apply calcium chloride or rock salt, it can melt ice or snow, then use hot soapy water to wash it.
Stain soil and dirts— Apply detergent, which contains oxalic acid or phosphoric acid. Whiping the stain for 10-15 mins.
Greasy and oil-based stains—immediately use household cleaning products with hot soapy water to wash it.
Juice and wine stains—Mixed the bleach stain agent and hot soapy water to dilute the stain and wipe.

- Q: Live in a Condo, with someone under me, can i nail down the wood floor without damages tenant under me, the floor is squeaking real badly.
- Obviously you can t screw from the bottom up to help secure it, which is the ideal way but not in your case. First I d try and spread baby powder or talc and sweep it into the joints. This some times , but not always helps if the tongue and groove is rubbing together. If the boards are slightly loose and moving you can t do to much. If there wasn t a felt or rosin paper put down between the sub flooring and the wood it may be causing the squeaking. There again not much you can do. As a very last resort is to nail (finish nail) or screw it down through the top and fill with a matching putty but it will show. Use a finish screw that has a small head so when its counter sunk and filled it less noticeable. Use a 1 1/2 nail or screw but there shouldn t be any pipes there or electrical but never bet on it , use the proper legnth .. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar GL
- Q: So I thought adding orange glo would add shine to my wood floor . It did . But now it looks all smudged and there's foot marks all over the floor with no shine just marks . How to i return the floor to how it was ???
- Your best bet is Murphy's Oil Soap, mixed as directed for floors. Use hot water and a well-wrung mop so that the floor dries quickly. If that doesn't work, or you want another solution, then keep in mind that you need to find something strong enough to cut the oil in the orange glo, without damaging the wood floor. Hot water with a tiny amount of dishwashing liquid (not enough to need rinsing) or hot water with a cup of vinegar would both be safe for your floor, and might remove the oil with a few tries. In the future, don't use any furniture polishing products on the floor, in addition to problems like this, the floor will be slippery and dangerous to walk on.
- Q: i live in canada and really like tatami. only one problem. are they like mats, or soft flooring, or hard flooring. basically is tatami flooring or just mats?? thanks!
- it's recommended that you also do not wear shoes on this flooring as it wears down the tatami mats quickly. Hope this helps!
- Q: we have a floor that is not level. The one side of the room is 1 and 1/2 inch lower than the other. This is a 200 year old home. We are wondering if we can use one of the floor leveling agents over top of the vinyl flooring that is glued down already, then put down a new "no glue" vinyl floor over it?Thank you, Cheri
- I would rip out the existing vinyl floor or the leveling material may not adhere or set properly, and no matter what you put on top of it would wiggle in a not so very long time.
- Q: I'm renting a home and my chairs in the kitchen scratch the floors and some deep scratches how can I remove those scratches from a pergo floor installed in 2005
- Since it glued to the floor as you say,it has to be a wood flooring. Minor scratches can be touched up with a stain or a touch up pencil. You may have to do some urethane but thats hard to do in small spot and have to look good. Pergo is more into the floating floor ( laminates) line of flooring. If it is a laminate, then there is nothing that can be done to hide scratches. Chair leg protectors and theres several types are good or a area rug to protect the the floor. - Q: I have a house that is 51 years old and would like to lay some hardwood laminate flooring . The problem is that the floor is pitched towards a drain. Their are no signs of leaks in concrete flooring and foundation. I am only doing half of the area so drain will not be covered. Will I have to build up a subfloor first ?
