- Generally a metal shed is not suitable because if in cold weather the difference in Temperature from inside to outside will get condensation forming on the inside of the metal shed and sick birds result.and very quickly. If in hot dry region and total front and floor made of mesh then would get get away with it otherwise you need to insulate the metal so that the difference in temp is not an issue. If you go into a metal storage shed no birds in cold weather will see condensation.
