Q: i have two problems.1. water is leaking out from the cold faucet. I unscrewed the plastic cover, it looks fine, but i can see the water coming out from the iron thing. I suppose the only solution is the replace the whole thing? but the whole thing seems to be glued to the sink. 2. water is dripping down under the sink around this twisted plastic tube. ( i don't know the proper name for those things.) i can see mineral kind of things accumulating around one black plastic circle kind of thing. i think that this should be an easy fix, what should I buy? should just buy that one thing or replace the whole plastice tube, etc?thanks.: Unless this faucet is near and dear to your heart, just replace it. Be sure to replace it with a good one, because the cheap plastic ones only seem to last two or three years. I had used some clear caulk around the base of the faucet fixture, but it came off after a few months: it was silicone, but in the fine print it says that it was for windows and doors (I just took the tube he handed me then left). If the leak was coming from underneath the sink, under the faucet, then yes, you'll need to replace the entire fixture. If you do, when you put it back together and put the new nuts on where this one comes off, put a little vaseline on the threads before you put the nut on, it will make it go on easier and certainly, if you ever have to do this again, it will come off easier.
