- Q: no power to brown trailer wire
- yes, there is a way just think about it.
- Q: is it ok for a 32mm square THHN wire
- wow,if this is the question,no offense, you need to hire a electrician also you can not use 90c rating unless lugs or breaker has a 90c rating.
- Q: I dont understand it I am trying to get a 1ohm load on a 2ohm dvc speaker but cant figure out how to tell if the wire you connect in the postive terminal on the sub in a neg wire or positive how do you tell what the gray line is on this diagram positive or negetive and how to tell. thanks
- wire both + together into 1 wire. wire both - together into another wire. wire the + and - to the amplifier. that's it.
- Q: Hi I have a ceiling fan/light to put up but after taking down the original rose, I am now unsure how to wire the existing wiring into the ceiling fan the wiring is a s follows:block 1 Live empty, red, red, block 2 loop all empty, block 3 neutral empty, black, blackthe connections on the fan are live neutral and earthGrateful for any help
- In America its black to black, the whites bus, and green to ground. However, this is for a 115vac circuit. If its 250vac things change and you might want to hire an electrician.
- Q: When was the hot-wire anemometer invented? and who was it?
- Who Invented Anemometer
- Q: Green (ground), got it.Black (positive), got it.White (common), got it.Gray wire with like a black fiber in it, what is this? This is a pendant light so my guess is its just a filler wire to bulk up the cord it hangs from, am I right?
- Dan is probably right, the extra cable would be called a messenger, cable have small letters printed on them, if you can identify the multi-letter UL cable designation and submit it here or google it.
- Q: im trying to install a cd player i need to know where i can hook up power(red) , constant(yellow), and my amp seems to take alot for remote wire so i need a good source for it too i also have a eq to power but dont know if it will work with the same source as the radio
- my friend you need a tester which is very cheap, every electrician have that, you need it if you into electronics. mainly what you do is that you connect one end with the body or negative and the other with different wires with the car on /battery on and if the light lit up and off when you turn the car off then you got the yellow wire. red should have the constant power.
- Q: I have a wire coming from the car battery positive terminal. It is 12v DC. I want to split this wire to two other wires. I cannot connect another wire to the positive terminal. Will splitting this wire cause the voltage to drop to 6v each wire? or will they pull a constant 12v each?
- No, each will carry 12v. I wouldn't advise physically splitting the wire though - you loose the insulation which is dangerous and you reduce the size of the wire which means that it may not be suitable for high current and could melt.
- Q: Why does a thin wire melt and a thick wire glow when put up to the terminals? Explain in terms of resistance and current. Thanks=]
- A thin wire has a fairly good resistance to the flow of electricity, represented by say R ohms. Let V volts be the voltage across the terminals of a battery. The current I that flows through the resistance is given by I = V/R amperes, heat generated is V X I = V^2/R Now the internal resistance of a battery is very low and hence if R is in a certain range, I can be fairly high and the heat generated in the wire can be high enough to melt the wire. This is the concept used in a fuse to protect the remaining circuit from a melt down or a fire! When you use a thick wire, the resistance R is very low and hence a heavy current flows through the wire and makes it red hot.
- Q: I am making a lamp shade that calls for bonsai wire. How is bonsai wire different from regular wire and what would be a good substitute for it????
- Aluminum or copper are the best choices. Avoid iron or steel as they can react with the sap and harm the tree, especially a juniper. bonsai is a copper coated aluminum. Aluminum is more mallable, copper is stronger, with strength you can go thinner, but thin is harder on the tree.
