- Q: I'm moving to a new place soon with my German SheppardHere's my problem - right now she is out all day when I'm at work as I don't agree with leaving her in a kennel for 8+ hours a dayWhen I move the location will be minutes from my job so I will be coming home for lunchesMy question is: Should I leave her outside during the day and install a doggie door in my heated garage, keep her keneled for 4 hours then when I'm home for lunch she would be walked orLet her roam the house? The last option is what I'm currently doing and although she has no accidents in the house she likes to chew thingsBy things I mean crown molding, dvds, xbox games, coffee tablesANYTHING she can get her mouth onto is basically destroyedALSO, we have a dog daycare in town but I'd rather her stay at homeShe used to go until I realized all the dogs were kept in a xpen all day with no water or being walked, kinda defeats the purpose.
- You might want to buy two baby gates and section off a room for her to stay in that doesn't have anything where she can get to it or rip it offI recommend buying her a lot of rubber, indestructible toys that she can play with while you are goneIn the morning when you feed her, put her food in a Kong WobblerYou can buy it at any pet storeThey provide a lot of mental stimulation, which your dog might be lacking because dogs destroy things when they have to much energy, especially with smart breeds that need a lot of exerciseToys to buy would be a Kong Extreme, Kong Wobbler, and most other toys bye Kong are pretty good, because they are pretty much indestructibleToys that see indestructible are generally good to buyI don't suggest crating your dog all day, because German Shepherds need to get their energy out, even if only in a little roomWhen you come home at lunch time, take your dog on a quick jog around the block, and when you get home, go on a nice long walk or runI also suggest signing up for some agility classes or rally classes on the weekend to help get her excess energy outOnce she has vigorous exercise every day, she will be less destructive.
- Q: Here's a puzzle for you to solve:I need to build a machine that can differentiate between copper, zinc, iron, magnesium, and aluminumObviously I could isolate each metal slowly and by hand, but such a method is ineffective in my situationI have the mechanical and programming know-how to build such a machine, but how does one actually differentiate between the two? For example, what different characteristics of zinc and iron or copper could the machine identify in order to differentiate? Many thanks.P.S.: Please answer only if you actually know the subjectBeing in an earth sciences class does not make you an expert on the matter.
- Copper is the only one with a yellow color Iron you can pick off by a magnet What are the pieces? random shapes and sizes? Varying amounts of corrosion and dirt? Because it can be very difficult if not impossible to automate on a one by one basis the remaining metals IF they are a uniform size and shape, like coins, you can separate them by weight, ie, density And what about alloys, various steels, brass, bronze, various aluminum/magnesium alloysSome stainless steels are not magneticA penny is 98% zinc but appears to be copper in appearance because of a coating of copper on the outside.
- Q: I'm making bread right now, but I realized that I have no good bread pansSo I'm looking around to see what might work, and I found that I have several aluminum cans that I buy my cappuccino mix inI think they are aluminum, I'm not too sure, but it has to be either aluminum or tinThey are about the same thickness as a soda can, so I was thinking they may make some cool little bread loavesWould they be able to go into the oven? I need to know pretty fastOtherwise, I'll have to use a cake pan.
- I use extra-virgin olive oil for frying with no problemSometimes I use it half and half with butter, tooI don't use it for deep fat frying though because it has a fairly low smoke point and deep fat frying requires a high temperature and olive oil would smokeThe reason olive oil, any type, is not recommended in most recipes is because it has a much stronger flavor than cooking oils such as canola and corn oilCakes and cookies and such just wouldn't taste right with olive oilUsing a more flavorless oil is better for most recipes.
- Q: if the density of aluminum is 2.702 g/cm^3 what is the total volume in the graduated cylinder? (16 oz1lb)
- I learned to knit bofroe you tube was thought of but I am told their videos are very good.
- Q: a. glassb. scrap aluminumc. Al2 03d. bauxitee. clayf. rubber
- Scrap aluminum by far. To get aluminum from an ore, it must be mixed with other salts and melted and a huge amount of electricity passed through the molten mixture to reduce the aluminum to the metallic state. A lot of energy needed, To melt scrap is somewhere around 5-10 % of the energy to make new from ore. Aluminum cannot be reduced by heating an ore with carbon like iron and many other metals.
- Q: My kids have Aluminium Bottles to carry their Lunch beverages to schoolAfter a couple of weeks, these have developed a nasty smell inside which I can seem to get rid offI tried with hot water, detergents and similarsDoes anybody know how to deal with this?Thank you in advanced,Maram68
- Give some thought to wall hangings.I've seen some that were essentially a picture on an acrylic blanketI would get 1 foam boards, wrap them in a blanket and shove them against the wall.
- Q: and why do you use it?
- I use it for any casserole dish I don't want to dry out while it is cookingI use it to prevent some things from browning too fastI use it to prevent the pies from running over in the bottom of the oven.
- Q: How do you replace a thermal pad with thermal grease?
- I usually just wipe with a tissue (don't leave any lint behind) or a soft cloth you can use isopropyl alcohol but thats a little overkill and just smear a little thermal paste on the center of the chip and a dab on the heatsink don't worry about the pink bit in pic two .looks like it's just some kind of buffer pad to stop the metal touching Good Luck :-) EDIT - I had a Compaq with similar problems my problem was the original thermal pad dried and crumbled and the aluminium foil piece in the middle was shorting out the processor to the chassis so YES do away with the foil completely
- Q: Are aluminum-cased cartridges harder on a pistol's extractor than brass-cased ammo?
- Although cotton is not known for wrinkled resistant fabrics, there are certain types of cotton fabrics which are of that natureIf you are specifically looking for those, you can get in various store.
- Q: I need to make a relief map for a project and forgot the recipe to make dough with only salt and flouris is 1/2 cup of salt for every 5 cups of flour?????
- Salt Dough—fun for all ages! Note: there are many variations on this simple recipeOur advice is to experiment until you get exactly what you wantIngredients 4 cups flour 1 cup salt 1-1/2 cups hot water (from tap) 2 teaspoons vegetable oil (optional) Mix the salt and flour together, then gradually add the water until the dough becomes elastic(Some recipes call for 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil at this point.) If your mixture turns out too sticky, simply add more flourIf it turns out too crumbly, simply add more waterKnead the dough until it’s a good consistency—then get out rolling pins, cups, bowls, straws, cookie cutters, plastic utensils, and let the fun begin! If you want colored dough, mix food coloring, powdered drink mix, or paint into the water before adding it to the dry ingredientsOr you can paint your creations after baking them at 200 degreesBaking times will vary depending on the size and thickness of the object, but make sure that all of it is hardIf the dough starts to darken before cooking is complete, cover with aluminum foilPainted keepsakes will need to be sealed on all sides with clear varnish or polyurethane sprayYou can store your salt dough in a sealed container in the refrigerator, but usually not more than a couple of days.
