And why do they walk away from me?: In general you use fittings for all branch connections. There are some low pressure non hazardous applications where stubins can be used but they do not always save any money in terms of total installed costs. If you always use fittings then you do not have to stop and do the calculations necessary to assure that the stubin connection meets the code(s). In very large piping at low pressure, with normal temperatures and low mechanical stresses, stubins can be economical but they must be used with caution if the fluid is potentially toxic or flammable. When I talk about fittings, that includes weldolets, threadolet and similar forged branch connections. In the case of large pipe manifolds designed for very high pressure with multiple connections, the use of custom made forgings can save costs.

Q: why is there a fire extinguisher in every movie?: The only way to treat split ends is to cut them off. When you tell a hairdresser or to do a trim, you tell them to take off the split ends. If your split ends are that bad then they will cut inches off. You need to stop using heat at all costs. If you do, use a heat protectant spray. This will protect your hair from the heat. If you already use this, then you should stop straightening your hair every day. There are lots of ways to style your hair without heat. Google it. Go and get all of the split ends cut off, then use a moisturizing shampoo. If you want to grow your hair out long, then you should get your split ends cut off every couple of months, I usually go every 3. This makes sure that you are removing the split ends from the healthy hair so the healthy hair doesn't get split all the way up to the root.

Schedule 40 is same as the black iron you would use. The black iron pipe that is reccomended has a plastic coating and you wrap the joints with this really good tape and it lasts forever also. Just pay atention to the joints and use good pipe dope because it is dificult to get good threads with stainless unless you use a good threader. An advantage of stainless over plastic is you won't damage stainless schedule 40 with a shovel or tiller. BTW most areas won't allow galvanize or copper because the natural gas has sulphur in it and sulphur corrades both.
