Function and Characteristic of Skylight Laminated Glass:

1.  Security: because of  the agglutinated function of the PVB film, when the glass is broken, only bring into radiation-like crackle, the fragment will not scatter out. It is safe and can not hurt people. So, it is widely used in the windshield glass for automobiles.

2.  Sound insulating : With a good damping function for sound wave, laminated glass is a favorable sound insulating material.

3.  Energy saving:  Laminated glass has better thermal performance than normal glass. Combined with insulating glass, laminated glass can achieve even better sound reduction effect and thermal insulation performance. Apparently, it is an ideal and safe energy-saving product.

4. U.V. Filtering : The interlayer can filter out ultra-violet rays, so that can prevent the indoor or objects such as furniture from fading.

5. Wider variety of color and patterns to choose for better decoration effect: PVB interlayer can be in various colors to meet with architect’s design intent and decoration requirements. It can also control transmittance of solar energy and reduce indoor air-condition load.

Q:What's the difference between skylights and roof windows?
skylights open. roof windows dont... generally.
Q:A cable comes out of the wall next to my brother's bed, then goes out the window. Halfway across the roof, it connects to another cable, which hangs over the side of the house. This seems like it would be hazardous during a storm (because of the lightning) I want my brother to be safe, but I don't want to ask him to change it unless it really is a big deal.a) is it really dangerous?b) if so how much and whyc) how dangerous is it compared to a normal house
are you talking about the phone line?
Q:Situation: Building in path ofTornado/Hurricane. Building designed and built: Walls and roof that are blow-out proof.Does that change the dynamics of the doors and windows from blowing in to blowing out?
Tornados often cause doors and windows to blow outward because the tornado creates a very low barometric pressure. The air inside the building pushes the windows and doors outward because the normal atmospheric pressure is no longer balancing the air pressure inside the building. If the doors and windows are strong, the pressure difference will find the path of least resistance (until some heavy object, like a car or a tree, is thrown thru the wall or roof or windows by the tornado.
Q:We are having a problem with the kitchen window leaking. The water is coming in right at the top of the window and the wood above it (on the inside of the house) is being damaged. We haven't called anyone to check it yet, we've been trying to put it off for 2 more weeks until I get my financial aid refund from the university, that way we'll have more cash for whatever the problem is. My husband thinks its the window causing the problem but my mom suggested having the roof checked out. I'm pretty worried if it's the roof that it will cost us more money than we can afford. How likely is it that its just the window? I really want to repair the wood (patch it or something), it looks awful, but I don't want to mess with it until we take care of the leaking.
What about stapling heavy plastic in and or outside the window. depends on how accessible it is.
Q:I am thinking of buying a 1994 Toyota Celica for 1500 dollars, its has 125k miles on it, but the front and rear bumper need to be replaced (couple hundred dollars each) and a leaky roof, how much would it take to fix the roof? And after all my expenses, would it still be a good deal?
The roof is it a moon roof or a retractable roof window?? Is it the window that is leaking or is it the rust around the window frame... Cost to fix could run as hi as $600 repaired professionally at the body shop.
Q:I just had an inspection on a home I'm under agreement to purchase and I'm overwelmed! The top 13 rows of brick on the chimney are shot along with the lining in the 2 flues. The roof shingles are on the brink of failure and the rafters can't be vented because the cathedral ceiling is insulated without baffles. the sills and window frames are rotted, the bottom 2' of board and batten siding is seriously rotted, we will need to move the electric meter to access some of the rotted siding, one toilet moves, one leaky heat pipe, bottom of garage door is rotten. We also need gutters. My time frame is narrow so any experience/advice on price would be appreciated. Thank you
sounds like you live up north but that will cost alot money 20,000 + on all the roof and chimney and rafters
Q:plz help they are keep breaking i am tried making them over and over!
Well, they keep breaking because they made from natural materials. EA probably wanted to make the game as close to reality as possible, thus the leaves will detoriate, or rot away. That's why you have to keep repairing them. It requires maintenance.
Q:I weight 165 pounds. My high school son who weights a whopping 85 pounds stood on the roof with no problems. He's away and I need to stand on the roof today. The roof is for the sole purpose of covering a bay window, so I don't know if it is designed to handle a heavy load.
I wouldn't try it. If you know where the beams and stand on them you may be ok but you're taking a risk.
Q:Okay so in my bathroom I have a window that's up above the toilet. Outside of it there's a drop down onto the roof where it slightly slanted. I've begun to climb out the window and just sit on the roof and look out. Helps so much with my depression. Problem is, my parents don't know about it and they would kill me if I did. I always leave the window open and the bathroom door locked so I can just yell inside something like I'm going to the bathroom and they would leave it be. It's a very safe roof, I've climbed onto it in the rain at midnight and was out there for hours and I'm fine. What do y'all think of the situation?
If anything helps with your depression, just go for it - as long as it is not harming you.
Q:My apt has bords on my windows the bathroom roof is falling in and its full of mold the outlets dont work the hot water dont work is this legal
If you can prove the mold is the cancer causing type you can sue the landlord to void your lease without penalty allowing you to move. But remember, most mold and mildew isn't the dangerous stuff. All other maintenance issue need to be submitted to the landlord so he can repair.
