Function and Characteristic of Skylight Laminated Glass:

1.  Security: because of  the agglutinated function of the PVB film, when the glass is broken, only bring into radiation-like crackle, the fragment will not scatter out. It is safe and can not hurt people. So, it is widely used in the windshield glass for automobiles.

2.  Sound insulating : With a good damping function for sound wave, laminated glass is a favorable sound insulating material.

3.  Energy saving:  Laminated glass has better thermal performance than normal glass. Combined with insulating glass, laminated glass can achieve even better sound reduction effect and thermal insulation performance. Apparently, it is an ideal and safe energy-saving product.

4. U.V. Filtering : The interlayer can filter out ultra-violet rays, so that can prevent the indoor or objects such as furniture from fading.

Q: Just bought my daughter an older ML 320. Sun roof was left open and it rained in and the windows will no longer work. Replaced the console unit. Didn't fix it Either the used console unit we bought was bad or do we have another problem? Thank you!
You may just need to let it dry out for a day or so after you check your fuses.
Q: So we really need new windows, a new roof, new appliances, and want to redo the bathroom. Obviously windows and roof are more important then the other two! I think we will be getting back a decent return (a minimum of 6500) and we will be doing all the work ourselves. Haven't looked into how much the materials are going to cost yet but since we are doing everything ourselves I think we might be able to get windows and a roof and maybe even have some left over to do something else. Not sure though. So what should we do out of the things listed?
roof is most important. do that and see how much cash you have left. windows are not cheap. remember, roof 1st, then go from there. save a little of that money for yourselves as a night out when the work is done. makes it worthwhile. you don't have to do everything at once.
Q: would you rather live in a house without windows or in a house without roof if you HAD to?
Without a roof
Q: I have a window on the second story in my room next to the roof of my garage so I can climb out onto it. I just want to make sure it's safe to climb onto it and lay on it. And will climbing back in be as easy? Please don't tell me not to do it cause ill probably do it anyways so instead tell me how to do it safely.
Do what roofers do, get a saftey harness.
Q: how much would be willing to pay for it? $160,000 or !80,000. We found a house we like in a great neighborhood, but it need all of the above.
maybe the house was priced to reflect those needs. the homeowner and realtor must have been aware of those issues. you are talking about making a bid thats 40 or 60 thousand dollars below the asking price ... thats not even a fair offer! you should get some advice from someone with experience.
Q: What do you think about rustic red vinyl siding with white windows and black roof and black shutters?
Depends on where you live. The black roof will attract a lot of heat in the summer, unless you have trees. Winter it could help warm the house by attracting the suns rays but no much as days are shorter. Good luck!
Q: Any of you replaced your windows lately? We have single pane aluminum 1980's windows and they are crap. Our power bill is 370 bucks, and I am thinking that redoing the windows and insulating and installing a new roof would cut down on our costs maybe??? Anyone have a professional opinion? We have an original wood shake roof too. How much would it lower our bill?
The previous winter, we weatherized all the windows and saved no real significant amount. Last year, all we did was add that Scotch plastic window stuff on. We saved about $350 on heating last winter, so I would expect to save at least that annually if we replaced all the windows. Our windows are double paned from the mid-70s. The reality is that it would cost me over $10,000 to replace all of my windows, so we are just doing a few at a time. We put in a new roof 5 years ago, but didn't really see any difference, but it was the same material.
Q: My Mitsubishi Ecplise Spyder. Changed the door and now the Power window and roof won't work. The Fuse both by the side door and under the hood are ok. Please help. They are stuck in the down position.
It may run through a door module that may need programmed. If so, the only one that can do that is the dealer.
Q: We want to let some natural light into a small en suite. it is at the top of the house, and we cold go for a small velux, or a proper window in the wall. There has been a window there once upon a time, which has been bricked up, and there is no lintel, which would be the easier option?and how long should the work take for either option? The walls of the house are about 130 years old and consist of bricks, no cavity. Thanks!
The roof window would be easier. Should take 2 to 4 hrs
Q: OK, I have a old 1995 travel trailer installation is poor and it has plenty of leaks. It is 40 feet long and has 2 pop outs that make it about 13 feet wide. So about 520 sq ft max. Do you think it would be cheaper to run the old roof top AC or run a window unit. I don't know how much wattage it would be to run the roof top, but I do know that the window unit will run at 1,350 watts. I live in Florida and it is parked right under the sun with no shade. Both units will keep the trailer cold, but I don't know the life left on the rooftop unit. And i want to keep the utility bills down. What is your experience and knowledge? Is their a way I can estimate? Should I go with the roof top or window ( it is a Frigidaire 15,100 BTU 11.2 EER 115V Window Air Conditioner - FFRE1533Q1 )
Look at the nameplate rating on the installed unit. If it has a higher wattage than the window AC it will cost more to run. A 15,000 BTU Dometic roof mount AC currently is specified as 1,530 watts. So it runs less than 200 watts higher than your window AC. That is only about 3 cents an hour more in power cost. Running both of the units will cost you about 50 cents per hour, or $12 a day if running all the time. If you only ran one unit and added some small fans to circulate the cool air more efficiently you might find that works well enough. Do you really need to keep the trailer cold as you call it? If you keep it reasonably moderate you will get used to the temperature. It isn't necessary to have your home freezing cold.
