- Q: I have a w385 Krzer on Boost Mobile's UNLTD plan. I like the Krzer and all but I'd like a new phone but keep the same number and plan. I was just on their site and was looking at all their phones but there is no option to buy a new phone in replacement of your other. the Krzer w385 does not have a SIM card so I can't but another phone online to swap card into I don't think. - If you go on the T-Mobile site, you will not be able to purchase a phone out right without a plan. If you go into a store, I don't think you would be able to either. You could always try going on to OKorder or into your local WalMart WalMart has a nice selection of T-Mobile phones that you can buy outright with out a contract.

- Q: i just got this boost mobile motorola i475 i was wondering does this phone play youtube videos. Ive downloaded opera mini already but everytime i try to play a vid on youtube it will say protocol not supported. so can i get this phone to play youtube vids or what?
- The Motorola i475 is too old of a cell phones. It is what we call a WAP phone. It can't access any internet website like a desktop can. The internet on this cell phone is more of text and menus like when the internet was more of menus and numbers. It won't be able to play videos or anything like that. Even Boost Mobile won't even activate this cell phone. As you know Boost Mobile is getting rid of any cell phone that uses the IDEN network. The cell phone Motorola i475 is a IDEN network phone since it has that walkie talkie feature. Boost Mobile will no longer support IDEN cell phones but only use CDMA network. So this cell phone is obsolete. All their cell phones on Boost Mobile website only use CDMA network.

- Ok here is the dealBoost Mobile is Nextel's prepaid phone service. Even though they are pretty much the same company unfornately you still can't interchange the sim cards because of Nextel being programmed as a contract service and Boost is programmed as a prepaid service. Unlocking the phone has nothing to do with the sim card but with the Esn or Meid number which is found on the sticker underneath your battery on your phone. Some retailers will take that number and unlock it so that you can use that phone on any carrier that you wish but you have to find a company that will do that. Without the phone being unlocked you are stuck having to use the phone on the given carrier it belongs to. I hope this has helped and God Bless!

- Mobiles phones use packet technology to transmit data. Each packet of data contains an address of the phone it is being sent to. Your phone decodes ONLY those packets addressed to it. The cell phone takes the sound waves of your voice and converts them to a digital signal. Those digital signals are then assembled into a packet of data. At the same time, the packet is given an address of the closest cell tower. All the computers attached to the cell towers determine which phone the packet is going to, and the computers on the ground route the packet through the easiest network path to the cell tower closest to the phone being called. that cell tower then transmits the packet to the cell phone. Since the packet has the address of only ONE specific phone, ONLY that phone can decode the packet. ALL of the other packets that may be floating around, even those on the same frequency, are ignored.

- Virgin Mobile is a prepaid service. That means if you don't pay your bill at the end of your billing cycle it automatically cancels and closes your account. You do not need to contact them. There are no fees if you cancel or don't pay your bill. Your service would be terminated and your account will be closed. So after that you can just sell your phone. When the person buys your used phone they would have to reactivate the phone and have a new phone number and account.
